The guy works out of his home, but does a nice job.

Reposting this, as I've been contacted about it twice today. The guy did a fantastic job.

I'm taking my 2004 in tomorrow for headliner. Two shops did not want to fool with it. One said if I pulled out the seats and the consul, maybe he would. The third shop said ok at $175.00 in Lynchburg, VA.

Thanks for all of the info posted here. I've noticed the loosening of my headliner at the A-pillars and thought I'd get a quote. One shop said $175 for stock - add about $35 for custom material.

The second shop I called said $245 for stock and the price is higher than normal because they have to pull the windshield out. For all of you that have had this done, did anyone have to have their windshield pulled?

Thanks - RL

My headliner fell down from the back for about 10". Local shop put it back original for 100.00... looks just like it left factory...Carl

No, it can be taken out through the back.

It comes out of the door, not the hatch, with some manipulation. Windshield out? No way José.

Looks like I might have to drive to Tennessee. All the shops around here want $300 or more for the job.

Not through the back, it will go out the passenger side door. It takes some maneuvering, be sure to note how it came out, reverse it to put it back in. You can do it yourself with regular headliner material for about $50.

Drive to Pennsylvania, I'll do it with you for nothing, just the cost of the adhesive and material.

Just had mine replaced by dcautoheadliner.com for $130. Material & color not a perfect match to oem, but good enough for me.

He took it out thru the door.
Sorry, Not sure how, I wasn't paying attention when he did it.

Thanks for all the info on how it comes out. Makes me feel better that the shop that quoted less actually knows what they're doing and I won't get a call telling me that they will have to up charge me because they can't get it out.

Thanks again!!

Danville is on Rte 80 east central Pa. I do not do dent repair, that's something I never got into, although I don't know why, I've tried just about everything else. The headliner could be done in a day but it would be morning until dark, it would probably require a one or two night stay.

Wow, my guy did it in 2 hrs for $130. Sometimes, its worth paying a profession

I just removed mine today. Took about 20 minutes to get the headliner completely loose in the car. Then another 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get it out the passenger door WITHOUT damage. Finally out. Took about another 30 minutes or so to clean it off real good. Going back in a few days. I bought a thick material that has a slight stretch to it without foam backing.

How did you clean it in 30 minutes? It took me several hours.

May be, I didn't spend 130 big ones. I'm talking about removing cleaning and you can't use adhesive remover to clean it or it can soon fall again, cutting the material, gluing trimming and reinstalling. I;m not sure how you could do it in 2 hrs, I'm not doubting the time for a professional, which I am most definitely not but for me to do the best job that I could do, it took the biggest part of a day. My cost, $20 for material and $15 for adhesive.

Giving it some thought, it takes close to 1/2 hour to undo the headliner and get it out and another to reinstall and secure the screws and trim so your guy must be really, really, fast since the glue takes over an hour to cure enough to handle. It must be my age, I have definitely slowed down since passing 60. LOL
