Headliner Falling
Discovered my headliner starting to droop around the sun visors this morning. After 6 years of southern exposure, glue just isn't holding up anymore. Material is coming loose where it meets the windshield. Like others have posted, doesn't appear that material was wrapped along the edges of the headliner.
Not really interested in doing this myself. Just don't have the time anymore to take on a job like this. I've used a really good upholstery shop in town for several other projects. Most recent was the installation of a new convertible top on our 2006 VW New Beetle. (Note: Factory glue doesn't hold up where rear window is attached to top.) Guy does exceptional work and gets all the "hard-to-do" jobs from local dealers. He's been at it for 40 years or so. Probably will take it to him next week to get an estimate of time & cost.

When I bought my Crossfire the headliner was falling on the passenger side and the rear. I took it out of the car, drove it to the upholstery shop, and they did it for $150. The guy took forever to get it done, but it looks great.
Hooker on the street corner told me the same thing ......
We'd been away for six months and upon return I backed my Crossfire out of the garage and was wondering why my head was rubbing on the roof. This had never been a problem before and then it dawned on me- the damn headliner came lose over the driver's seat. I found a good upholsterer and am going to take it in and see what the damage will be. Seems like around $150-$200 is the going rate.
.
Man, took mine in to a top rated car upholstery shop here in Vegas area today and the guy quoted me $375! I was expecting around $200 from what most of you had said. Gonna have to shop around a see what else is out there.
temporary fix is push pins slid into foam parallel to roof line.Gets headliner off of your head, without damaging headliner. did this 3months ago and never took it to a shop.

I see you also have Oceanside listed. You need to come back to San Diego and take your car to Jim's Upholstery. One of the best shops in the country. I had mine replaced early this year. $175. All new padding, 10 year warranty. Looks better than it did new.
I had the whole headliner falling thing done to me. I called around to the different auto upholstery places in the area. One said they'd do it for an arm and a leg, another said they'd never do another Crossfire in their lives. I finally called down to the stealership and they quoted my first born male child. Then I asked the guy why is it so hard to do repairs on these. He gave me the ol' we are not here for repairs, we are here for replacements. There was that awkward silence, then he told me that they usually take the Crossfires down to the auto upholstery place up the road from them. He gave me the name and number of the guy.
Turns out he had two Crossfires in the garage for the same reason. I drove down there, saw the two CF's, and a multitude of beautiful classic cars in there for leatherwork. The man showed me around and all the work he had to do with a prideful smile. This made me feel good with the decision on coming down to his shop. We agreed on the headliner material and said I'd just wait up the road at a Starbucks so I could do some remote desktop work.
The guy called me up a few hours later telling me it's done. He felt bad that I was waiting on him so he went to the place he gets the liner material from personally and got the job done. We continued to talk about all the classic cars in his garage until my boss called me and asked why I wasn't at the office.
Stand up fellow. If you're in the DFW area, look him up. Here's his page: Auto Upholstery Specialist Ft. Worth, TX ( Texas ) Heck, I just noticed he's got a Crossfire on his convertible tops page.
