Hello all,

I got mine just before Xmas (what a nice present ;-) ).
I followed all your instructions (the last 6 digits on the VIN number)
and I also checked the inside of my driver door + the sticker from the day I got it.

and I have 041160

So I don't understand because you are all in the 10's or under.

What is wrong with me ?!?!!?!? Is it possible ? I doublechecked twice each and that's the same number which appears everywhere....

Just got mine today...Built 11-03....#013363 Black on cedar 6 speed....Sweet

 

Yours is an 05 i assume. The numbers go in order of release, so every 05 will be a higher number then every 04. 04s go up to around 025000, 05s go from there.

You're right Christo. Mine is a 2005 (built in August 04) and the number is 41160 (highest number so far). Got it beginning of December 04.

 

Mine's 42055, built in August 2004. Just got it January 24 and loooooove it!

best place to find it....

left side of lower front windshield. vin should begin with a "1". your build # is the last 5 digits of the vin.

 

2301 is mine...

yours is one of the earlier 2004s. does it have a radio display with a light or dark background? many people complained about the radios with the dark background because the displays were difficult to read during daylight. if yours wasn't upgraded with the light-greenish display background radio, and if you're not satisfied with the display, you might want to consider taking it to a chrysler dealership for a replacement. chrysler was replacing these at no charge.

 

That is great news... I will contact the Chrysler dealership locally and ask them about replacing it. There is probably a clause that indicates the replacement is for the original owner only. Who knows... I might replace it with an in dash navigation unit.

 

Being the second owner shouldn't be a problem as long as it is still in the factory warranty period. Here's a link to the TSB for the radio. If you take them the TSB number, they shouldn't really be able to argue about it.

Where is the build number located?

 

It's the last 4 numbers of the VIN number. I learned this today.

 

If I ever find myself in Tampa I'll take you up on that.

 

I'll be in Dallas next month for 3 weeks followed by 3 weeks in Houston the following month... What's there to do in Texas? Plenty to do here in Tampa...
