Default Costly maintenance??

Hey guys. Just bought mine and am lovin it.

Curious to know how much Chrysler charges for oil changes and if you have to go to them for this. And if you don't and something goes wrong with your engine will Chrysler void your warranty?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your car... you'll love it!!!

My dealer charges $72.50 for an oil change. Plan on spending the better part of a $100.00 bill for an oil change on this car.

As with all cars, you can take it anywhere you wish to have the oil changed, even doing it yourself without voiding your warranty. Just keep receipts.

I would not take the Xfire to one of the quickie lube places etc as it's a different setup most of them people are familier with... and they tend to screw things up once in awhile. IMO you would be better off with this car to take it to the dealer... if they screw anything up your covered.

Bought a service contract with mine. $1,800. And all of my services and oil changes are free (paid up-front) every 5k miles for 70k miles.

I will be taking my car to the local Mercedes dealer. They said they would be happy to service it, and I feel they know the engine better than Chrysler dealers.

I believe we're talking in this thread about maintenance, not repair. By Federal law, Chrysler can't dictate where you have maintenance services done, unless they include the cost of said maintenance with the price of the car. Nor can they void the warranty. Just be sure to keep your maintenance receipts, especially if you don't have it done at a Chrysler dealership.

Mercedes will not do warranty work. They will do routine maintanance such as oil changes, filters, hoses, etc. On anything I need to pay for, I feel more comfortable having Mercedes do it.
