Well, my car was keyed again today while at the mall. A half dozen 10-12 inch vertical scratches right down to the metal now reside on my driver's side door. It happened at the same mall, but in a different parking location, so anyone in NJ, do not park your Crossfire at the Bridgewater Commons mall. Unbelievable. I'll take pictures when I get a chance.

I talked to them last tmie it happened, and they don't have cameras in any of the parking lots. It was in the middle of the day too, with a lot of people around, and I was parked right near an entrance. Dammit.

Maybe you should park farther away from an entrance. Most crimes occur due to convenience. Having tons of people walking by your car makes it more likely that you'll get a jackass that feels inferior because he's an obsessive materialist walking by your car.

Damn, sounds to me like it would be in your best favor to get a piece (of ****) to drive around when you are going to such places.

Old used cars can be had for a few grand. Much better than dealing with this! Sorry man bad luck

I used to live in Bridgewater, I am familiar with the commons mall. It sucks what happened. I think laws should be changed to make vandalism a higher crime than it is. It is so hard to prove or catch someone damaging a car. The mall security doesn't care. Truly a shame.

I would say park it near the entrance and just wait where it's hard to see you if the guy comes out the entrance. You can catch him red-handed, er black handed.

I'm not an attorney but I believe that the owner of the mall could be potentially liable to what happened to your car. For example, grocery stores are definitely liable for what happens in their parking lots especially concerning shopping carts. Its almost funny how they have signs that contradict themselves, "we are not responsible for damage caused by shopping carts" and then another would say "please help keep prices down by putting away your shopping carts." You could consider filing a claim with their insurance company or talking to a lawyer. I am not sure how it is in NJ but you could possibly take them to small claims court too. Just trying help, I wish you the best of luck. It was not a good day for either of us yesterday but mines pales in comparison to your situation. I got the longest dent ever on my door and adjacent panel.

Ron

Ronman... where are you getting that information from??? Sounds like you're "way off base" to me... Business' would go broke in two weeks or less if they had to pay out friviouls claims like that. Can I sue the city or state for damage done to my car because of stone chips, potholes etc??? Don't think so...

BTW: I'm filing a suit against every fastfood joint out there because I got fat eating there..... yeh right.

You are the one definitely getting way off base. Grocery stores are liable for shopping cart damage, for sure, without a doubt. Yes you can sue the state for damage done if they knew about it beforehand and did nothing but there is no warranty for the street a person drives on. If I was such a jerk as you are portraying me as such, then I guess I should sue my best friend for the damage that happened to my car at his restaurant parking lot? I don't think so, I value his friendship way more. BTW, your argument about comparing this to fast food joints is quite weak and irrelevant. The poor guy has had his car keyed twice at the same place. The security guys didn't even care. In the end it was just a mere suggestion.

Ronman wrote: "... I'm not an attorney but I believe that the owner of the mall could be potentially liable to what happened to your car". then you turn around in the very next post to say "...Grocery stores are liable for shopping cart damage, for sure, without a doubt".

Yo Bro,

Don't get your shorts in a knot!!!

I merely asked, "...where are you getting that information from???" Go back and read both of your post's, they contradict each other!!! One minute you only "believe" and in the second "you state a fact" that they are liable. That was a quick change of info on your part. So which one is it????

BTW: If you can't handle people disagreeing with you, or making comments, I wouldn't do much posting here... 'cause everyone is not going to agree and they will ask questions if there is any doubt in what you say.

Have a great day...
