Default Where to get clutch / flywheel

It appears the clutch has failed in my son's Crossfire (04 56k miles). The dealer has outrageous prices.
I can find a few clutch / pressure plate kits on Ebay for 650-750.
I am not having any luck on flywheel (they cost 1100ish).?
Do I also need a throw out bearing (release bearing)
A slave cylinder (mounts internal ) ?

Has anyone replaced their clutch and can you confirm the actual parts list required? I don't trust the dealership at all.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have part numbers, you may want to get quotes from a M-B dealership. Some members have found parts much cheaper without the Chrysler mark-up. I wonder if the flywheel is solid and can be re-surfaced?

Flywheel is dual mass, cannot be resurfaced. There was a change in Feb 2004 in the flywheel - You will need your VIN number to get the correct one. For some reason the early one costs more than the later one.

Word to the wise - even if you use the Luk ebay clutch ( 634.00 ) you are looking at 1500 - 1800 for parts assuming you do not need the slave cylinder (reelase bearing) . Centric has it for 82.00 Chrysler has it for 526.00. This is getting the parts yourself, through Chrysler it is about 2500 for parts.

Exeddy also makes a clutch (672).
