Stranded you are not only verbose, you are gifted. If you came up with all of that retrosexual stuff yourself off the top of your head you have my vote for the best post on the forum so far. Tongue in cheek or not, that was CREATIVE man. And David I must be retro as I eat Quiche in man sized portions and I really don't care what all of those other diners think. I guess my wife and others don't really give a damn either as no one has ever called me on it.

Isn't it amazing how these posts get turned around? From Wonderdallas's orignal to retrosexual. And I think Strandeds bottom line really is retro, hetero, metro, **** - makes no difference at all, we are all just people having a good time. Any hey - I thought jsisabella was really a female until he cleared up that husband/wife thing some time ago. You did clear that up right?

Well, maybe it was that jsisabella thing, reminded me of that Frankie Layne tune -- Younger generation is asking Frankie who? No offense was intended ops:

Hey... I thought 'he' was a 'she' too, until 'he' cleared it up. Must be the 'isabella' part of the name...

Stranded,
Stating that I am gay isn't a invitation for you to spew forth your thoughts on a topic that has nothing to do with this thread. But while were at it....

As far as your "Code" is concerned, I'll bet I clear most of those rules more than the average straight guy.

If not how come I'm always the first to give my seat away on a bus or train?

I always open a door for women. And I'll hold the door for anyone....breasts not required.

Not only can I change a tire, I'm the guy that stops to help others do it.

If someone breaks into my home, they better put a hole in me cuz I won't hesitate.

I eat plenty of red meat, but rarely kill anything besides the targets we make for our shotgun practices.

No gay man worth their license even walks into "Hot Topic"...whatever that is.

A "real man" would hunt with a knife instead of donning camo and sitting in a deer stand waiting for an unsuspecting fawn to walk close enough to pull a trigger. Hunting isn't about closing one eye and squeezing a trigger. IF you do hunt with a gun, any human with morals should eat the damn thing.

Tools? How does a gas charged nail gun grab ya?

Ice storm? I'm always the designated driver.

Chop down a tree? What just one? Please....that's easy.

I don't know where you are from, but any Southern guy, gay or straight, who's raised right can do any of your "code".

If it sounds like I'm offended, I'm not....I know bigots are everywhere and that's why I make sure I'm bigger, stronger and potentially meaner than they are.

Ya'll have a nice day.

 And I thought that was the definition of a "PIG". And I don't mean that in a good way.

You go Dallas :!:

I absloutely refuse to comment on either Stranded's and now Wonder's posts, that have taken this thread to Pluto.

But since we are already there, I guess it is OK for me to respond to CCrossfire and David:

j s isabella

James S. Isabella

And the middle name is VERY Italian - Salvatore, which was my grandfather's name.

No offense taken..... Just surprised!

I guess that is what happens when I am too lazy to come up with some cool screen name!

Since I am half Italian and half Polish, maybe I should change it to wopolak....

Or should we start a poll for this? There seems to have been a poll for eveything else here lately!

OK, back to talking about our cars....

Still no word on my car. I called my service advisor but they were not in today. I asked for someone to find out about my car and call me....no one did.

I think it is time to talk to the manager of the service department, or the general manager of the dealership.

So - do you have the time and do you live close enough to go down there first thing in the AM and demand to talk to the Manager or someone who CAN give you some answers? This is getting ridiculous - they need to start giving you some REAL answers.

 Your poor baby

Good luck

Unfortunately I work at night and have been sacrificing alot of sleep this week trying to refi my home. I'll be up about 24 hours before I have a chance to sleep again, so I'll probably wait till Friday morning and hope for a pleasant answer as my birthday present.

They did put me in a Mazda6 as a rental. Not a bad car at all.

You didn't pay $$ to buy the car and have it sit in the repair shop. However, you did pay $$ and there should be someone courteous enough to speak with you.

As for heading to the dealer, make it Saturday...there will probably be more potential customers who will hear you complaining.

I'm optimistic there must be someone from DC reading this forum to provide a name for some results. Good luck.

wonderdallas:

I would PM DFWSBR. He will be able to contact the proper D/C rep for your area. He offered to help bobby, who unfortunately did not take the advice given.

Good luck!

My first inclination was to just let this thread pass, but me being me - I just can't do it.

Some people are taking the posts on this thread and sometimes this forum way too seriously. Stranded's post was clever and well thought out, and posted for fun. As I said I believe his bottom line was not negatively aimed at anyone, we are all just people connected by a common interest.

And Wonder, we have a lot in common, I'm an accomplished target shooter, small bore mostly, but enjoy my shotguns too. I haven't killed a game bird or animal in years and years, but when I did it fed the family. I also was brought up to respect others, my wife of 48 years can attest to that. Best regards - Bob

CCrossfire,
I'm not taking anything Stranded said too seriously. I'm sure he meant it to be funny, I just doubt if I had said I was black (which I am not) he wouldn't have had the nerve or inclination to start a rant saying ...."Ok folks, I have had it. I've taken all I can stand and I can't stand no
more. Every time my TV is on, all that can be seen is "black" men
"strutting" about ...blah,blah,blah."

That's all I'm gonna say about the subject

SO, back to the subject at hand. Finally I get a call last Friday saying my car was ready. I stopped by on Saturday to pick it up. First thing I noticed was the passenger door no longer shut flush to the body. Wild-eyed craze insues  . Not really, but I was pissed. Since my service tech wasn't there, I documented the problem with another.

I left to get gas and immediately noticed:
-grease all over the headliner.
-grease on the seats
-white dried powdery stuff on the passenger-side door, seat and dash
-scuff marks all over the lower part of the doors
-dull scuff marks all over the rear of the car from where the techs leaned against the body while reinstalling the cargo trim.
-a chip/scrap on the edge of one wheel
-scratches on the hood

I weant back and just nearly lost it with the general manager. He was very apologetic

It boils down to the car is with them another week as the detail it and repair the wheel and scratches.

I'm so over this crap.....why is it that they would carelessly create more work for themselves? AND they are a 5 star dealer.

They then put me in another Crossfire for the week. A black on cedar automatic. It's nice to have an extended length comparison. Also, this X-fire has the same popping/stress creaking coming from the cargo area....worse actually.

So the friday I discovered all this crap was my birthday ( I was supposed to be in Mexico). I was ALREADY in a bad mood (very rare for me)before the visit to the dealership and was fit to be tied after. I had dinner plans with a couple of friends and really didn't want to go. I show up at their house and every one of my close friends come rushing out dressed as the most ridiculous superheroes! The house was decorated with cartoon captions and the cake was just flat out crazy. And all was right in the world.

Dallas

We'll see how it all turns out.

Hmmm.. Body work began on the vehicle without ever receiving your 'go-ahead'... shoddy worksmanship upon delivery of your vehicle... I think I would be asking for some spectacular treatment at this point. Free tank of gas? (PREMIUM!!!) Free LOF? something to make up for your aggravation!
