are you sure the real problem/creak wasn't just the hatch needing the proper adjustments on the rubber stoppers as mentioned on this board in the past? :?
Hell, I don't know. I originally assumed it was a small adjustment that was needed. By the time I found my car it had been torn apart. The body shop guy said they had oufitted the car with microphones to pinpoint the area and that it was the body. It is better now, but I can't tell you exactly what the problem was.

i think i might be having a similar problem with mine. :x at first i thought i was hearing a rattle just behind the driver side door. i was going to take it in several weeks ago to have it checked but then the sound would disappear. i didn't want to hear those oft used words "could not duplicate" from the dealer so i have yet to take it in. but now its back and i would define it more as a creaking sound. it sounds like its coming from the plastic trim piece into which the seat belt buckle strap retracts. i drove around quite a bit this evening with the stereo turned off to see what conditions cause the sound so i can demonstrate it to the dealer. everytime i accelerate or decelerate briskly i hear the creaking sound. sometimes bumps in the road will also result in the noise. a similar creak can sometimes be heard at the same location on the passenger side as well. it seems that it may be stress induced. i thought maybe it was my seat being all the way back, but moving the seat forward didn't help solve the problem. neither did opening the window, unlocking the door or taking off the seat belt (i was looking for anything that might be the cause). it's definitely not coming from the hatch. i sure hope i don't have the same problem dallas had. but i do know one thing.... the noise is extremely irritating so it's something i'll have to have fixed.
I have experienced the same problem on mine: in my case you can stop the noise by pressing on the plastic piece with the weatherstriping that's attached to the rear "quarter" window. It appears to be caused by contact between that trim piece and the plasic trim piece that surrounds the seat belt retractor opening. My assumption is that this can be adjusted??
I'd say just have it removed and put back on. Chances are the clips aren't set in place properly.
You need a very small torx bit to remove the metal retainer in the door jam. 3 of those screws are there. Once that is off you can remove a phillips screw located just beyond the belt in the slot. Then that entire plastic part by the small window just lifts up with some effort.
I'd personally have a dealership do it so you don't snap any parts off

The trim peices that are at the intersection of the bulkhead and the C pillar are not fitted properly. This is the area where they tried to fix the body, but I'm still thinking it's the plastics.
I haven't taken the car back to the dealership.
The last time the "fixed" it they really screwed up the car.
I still have the problem AND the dealership has stained my headliner, seats and knicked ANOTHER wheel.

yesterday i took it in to have the squeak/creak/rattle looked at. i had the xfire tech drive the car with me as passenger so there would be no mistake as to what the noise was and where it was coming from. i left the car with them and picked up my rental. they called in the aftn and said the car was ready and that the recommended fix from chrysler was to place foam rubber under the trim piece to insulate it from the window trim. they also used pieces of the thick wax-paper backing from those little oil change reminders that cling to your windshield. i wouldn't imagine there's some kind of specialized part to fix the problem, so i am ok with some improvising on the dealership's part.... as long as it works. unfortunately, within a half mile of leaving the dealership it started again. i was running late so i just drove the car instead of taking it back. this morning i noticed that there were also some minor linear scratches along the window trim where they trimmed back the foam and paper so it wouldn't be noticeable. i went back to the dealership this morning and made an appt for next wed.
i must say that even though this might seem like an insignifiant issue, the noise is quite annoying. the fact that it wasn't fixed on the first attempt is also dampening my love for the car. the marks in the trim from a knife also don't make me feel so enthused. the dodge durango rental i had for the day was actually a relief to drive because it was quiet.

Actually there are specialized parts for fixing squeaks and rattles.

maybe i should call the dealership before i go back in to make sure they have a kit handy. is it a chrysler item, and does it have a part number?
I now have an appointment on June 8th with a regional service rep. The dealership has been showing alot of concern and wanting me to get the car I signed up for.
My biggest concern is more unneccessary damage being done during the service. The small hatch opening requires alot of leaning against the car to reach the problem area. The last time I got the car back the finish was scuffed. Oh well, I'll just have to have faith.
I do love the Crossfire but if I knew then what I know now, I'd probably wouldn't have gotten it. That's more a statement about the curveballs life has thrown me than about the car itself. I'll cry if I sell it (it's just sooooo purdy!) but I can't really justify two cars and an expensive house just on my newly single income. Would ya'll disown me if I trade for a Magnum R/T?
