I suggested pulling the fuse while the spoiler is in the down position (instead of up) in the winter, because I feel the "sissor brackets" that the spoiler is mounted on are a little on the delicate side.
Since winter driving can put your car in harms way much more often than at any other season, thanks to flying sheets of ice, salt, the extra weight of snow sitting on top of a raised spoiler etc. So why take a chance if you really don't have to?
Just keep it under 90 mph, and you should be just fine until spring rolls around.
