Adjustable Rear Camber Kit
Can anyone supply me with the information on the Adjustable Rear Camber Kit. I had the alignment checked today and the mechanic said the rear camber was out a lot, but he didn't know what kit to order because there is none listed for the C/F.
He said it wouldn't correct the bad tracking, but it would would cause severe tire wear. Would it be the same as the one for the SLK320? I have an 2004 C/F Coup with only 7000 miles. Where can I purchase it and how much should it cost?
Thanks,
EOLJR

I'm running the adjustable bars from TVT, but they're no longer in business so KMAC is really your only choice right now. They're a bit pricey, but they're top-quality.
The factory bars are nonadjustable... I'm not sure how they would have lost the camber angle over the years

I have camber arms from Speedy Benz and I like them. You shouldn't need any camber adjustment unless your lowered or the car was in an accident. If your lowered, real low, I'd go with the Kmac kit. I had to lift my car because of some interference issues with the sway bar under extreme cornering forces.

Thanks for all the response so far. I'm including photos of two arms I found. One is from a seller on Ebay for $212 a pair(blue) and the is from myMBonline.com for $299(Stainless Steel). KMAC is $320 and TVT is $545. Do these photos look like the correct ones? The photos that KMAC and TVT showed don't look like these. The looked like bushings.
Thanks,

If your lowered ..... if, if, if, if your lowered, you don't want the blue ones. Look at the stock arms, see that they're curved for clearance with the suspension? The replacement arms need to be slender where it passes the sway bar or, trust me, it will bang the sway bar unless you drive calmly and don't hit potholes, again, if your lowered more than 1-1/4 inches. The Kmac kit replaces the bushings on your stock camber arms.

I have the K-Mac which work great. Yes they are bushings with an ecentric bolt. as you turn the bolt you lose or gain camber. the only problem with the K-Mac is removing the old bushings which are nearly impossible to get out.
Thanks again for all the responses. My C/F is not lowered. I only
want to be able to adjust the rear camber to prevent tire wear. Everything on my C/F is stock, except the radio. I replaced the original with a Blaupunkt London MP48 which was a suggestion from a member earlier. It was a great choice. Easy to install and great sounding. I think I'll go with the stainless arms anyway. They look a little sturdier.

LantanaTX,
So to sum it up. What I am hearing is: If you have lowered you car with say Eibach springs you should look at getting a camber kit. TVT used to sell the adjustable arms but doesn't anymore. So one safe option is to go with the KMAC camber kit which has concentric bushings rather than an adjustable arm. Both accomplish the same thing.
Sound about right?
With the Eibach springs do folks find they have to also put in a front caster kit?
I have not and I don't think I have any uneven wear issues.
Thanks for the info.
Brian.

I will be making my own kit, which will pretty much be identical to the TVT kit. I bought some stock camber arms to work with, I will post a how-to with all the measurements when I get around to making them.
I bought the pair of MBonline camber arms. The mechanic had a difficult time adjusting the arms. He said there was not enough space for the wrench. It took him almost three hours to do the job. Here's a copy of the alignment. To the naked eye, the right rear tire still seems to me to be too much negative camber, but I'm not the expert. I'm not sure if he did a good job aligning the wheels. I'll have to have someone else check it. Does anyone know how to check the printouts?

DOES NOBODY SEARCH ANYMORE!!!???

looking at that print out, the LEFT rear is more negative(-1.3) than the right rear(-1.0)... -1.0 is a pretty good number...
with adjustable camber arms they should have been able to get them the same on both sides...
there is plenty of adjustment with them...
being difficult is not an excuse to do a poor job...
on the same line I was charged $90 to install the two front camber bolts when I had my 4 wheel alignment done with adjustable rear camber arms... I was a LITTLE upset....they didn't tell me there would be an added charge and when I asked them about the price, he said "there were very hard to install"!

I've owned 2 different sets of camber arms and they both had ample adjustment. The most I ever tried was -3º and the least -.5º with plenty of adjustment left. In other words, I'm confused with the problem. I installed my own camber bolts in the front and it's worth the $90 if you don't have the right tools.

Guys, I have a pair of questions:
What is the center to center distance for the OEM camber arm?
What is the diameter of the bolt/shank of the attachment bolts?
Making these is pretty simple if one has the dimensions.
This would just save me the trouble of lifting the car and disassembling it to find out for my lazy self!
