Default Classic Crossfire moment...

I went up to visit my friend this weekend at Bloomsburg University in PA. It was a beautiful day, and they were having Block Party, basically a huge party, where EVERYONE is out on the streets. I was just coming down the road leading to the main street, where there were hundreds of college students all around. The windows are down, and I hear a girl go "Oh my god, look at that car!" She comes up to the window and was like "I want a ride in your car," and then opens the door and gets in. Haha, I love it, she was REAL cute. Unfortunately I didn't think of getting a picture. I drove to my friend's house and we hung out for a bit, but then she decided to go back to the other party she was at. I don't think you can get a much bigger compliment on your car, than an attractive girl just jumping in the passenger seat.

Driving around that day was awesome, everywhere I went everyone was staring at the car, and making comments. I also just finished installing lowering springs and koni struts that morning, so the car was looking amazing. I have gotten so many compliments in the last few days, and I think it has a lot to do with it being lowered. Here is a pic.

I just arrived in the tennis court and as I parked my XFIRE beside an RX8, some players were then surrounding my car and were looking around it. I opened the door and let them have the feel of the inside and they are all amaze how beautiful the car is...especially with the illuminated doorsills on

Then all of the sudden, I saw the RX8 moved out from his parking lane and droved to a farther parking lot. :?:

I said what the hecks wrong with that guy? Was he embarrassed with his RX8 parking beside a Crossfire? Well, I got the attention, he don't.....and I'm extremely very happy

I have sympathy. The first day I took my car to work I parked it a bit out of the way with no cars around. Came out and there were now two cars there. . .crossfire and a red corvette convertible.

I found myself wondering why she parked her car right next to mine???

Being fortunate enough to have a Crossfire in college has really been a great experience. I don't show it off too much, but rolling up to parties and driving down our campus drive (especially with new HIDs shining out) is an awesome feeling. I can feel all the eyes following the car... having my girlfriend in the passenger seat just completes the set up! Hot cars and hot girls.

You think it's bad in this car. My other ride is a Lotus Elise. It can get dangerous in terms of the amount of attention. In comparison I feel invisible in the Crossfire lol. I have to say to I think the SRT-6 is a great car and an excellent compliment to the Elise. It feels big and luxurious in comparison yet has some serious performance

That's odd, because there are times when I think the Crossfire attracts as much attention as my 96 GTS. But since I haven't driven it since I got my Crossfire, maybe I just forgot how much I got noticed in it.
I have to say, I must be more approachable in the Crossfire, because a lot more people come up to me and ask about the Crossfire than they ever did when I was in the Viper.
Just this afternoon, it was so beautiful out (and I hadn't driven the XF in a week or so) we drove the Crossfire to dinner, and on the way home found a beautiful "Metro Park" just 15 minutes from our house that we had never been to before.
The sun was setting and lighting up the Fall foliage, so we stopped in one parking lot in front of a lake and got out to take some photos. About a minute later a couple just a few years older than us stopped their suv, and the woman leaned out the window and said, "That's one really beautiful car, you should be very proud".
Now I hear nice remarks about our car nearly everytime I'm out in it, but this lady was so sincere, and seemed genuinely "taken" by it that it really made us feel "special" just to have it. But then it always make us feel that way.

Default more Classic Crossfire moments...plus a FIERO!

Ok, Ok...the Crossfire gets the looks, that's for sure...especially from the ladies, it seems...fine with me!

But, the first day I had my X-Fire, I parked it beside my cherry, mist-white 1988 Fiero GT (see pics on my other post, if you want proof)...both in my driveway...and I had people stopping their cars on the street and coming over to see both of them...

My GT has always attracted attention...it's still a VERY good looking car...despite it being 20 years old...

I think that the X-Fire and the GT make a nice pair...wish I had room for both in the garage...(I don't!!)

So, sadly, in the spring, the GT will be on the block...

Anybody know somebody who might be interested...? It's professionally appraised at $14,000...and I have all the original parts / polished staggered spiderweb alloys etc...as well as the updated bits such as 17" wheels / short shifter / Holley scoop etc...

Both cars are great...and DO get the looks!

Esellent, in Toronto

Yesterday at the bank drive thru, I had the top down and pulled into line. Little (5 or 6 year old) girl in the back seat of the car next to me (they had all windows down, it was a nice day) said, "Mommy look at that car!"

Today, pulled into KFC and got outta the car.. walking across the parking lot a lady of about 55-65 years was driving out, asked me, "Did Chrysler really build those?" I took this to be a very perceptive question!
I told her, "No, they had little to do with it... car was built in Germany by Karman under contract to Diamler-Chrysler". She commented that "those sure are pretty, and even more so when they are red".

My question is this: Do you Coupe drivers hear stuff like this? The reason I ask is: A) I am gonna buy a Coupe. B) On a test drive of a red coupe yesterday, I was stopped at a light and a young lady yelled to me "Sexy Car".

No matter, I'll buy a Coupe even if it doesn't draw attention, but I WAS wondering cause I like 'em so much that having a Roadster DOES NOT make up for NOT having a Coupe!

Nope can't say we coupe drivers ever get any reaction whatsoever.

I can say this because i had the car more than 5 years. The excitement has slowly died as the years go on. I used to get countless comments 5 years ago. Everyone wanted a tour of the car. Now 5 years later i don't get as many. I have a coupe and personally think it looks better than the convertible..... No offense.

I remember when I first brought the car home my neighbor saw it in the driveway while i was washing it. All i heard were the words damn as he was walking around the car staring at the wheels. I just don't get as many compliments as I used to.

My coupe has many eyes upon it every day. I get comments in parking lots, drive thru's, neighbors, etc. I personally love the look of the coupe better than the roadster, but I'd sure like to have both.

While the car is now out of production, and has been around awhile, it's still so unusual (very few around) and such an eye catcher I think it will always get some looks.
