Default Any way to get Stuck CD out of player?

I have looked back 6 months and I thought there was a post about a CD getting stuck in CD player. Can't find it. Anyone know how to get out without hurting anything or is this a service trip???

Thanks,

Todd

Sounds like a service trip to me. Have you tried all of the no-brainer stuff like cycling the player on and off and switching between features. If your a do it yourselfer, there is a way to pull the radio, but I would try the dealer first.

See if you can watch carefully how the dealership gets it out, and report back, so that maybe the next unfortunate soul can DIY rather than making a trip to their dealer.

I just checked the Service manual and there's nothing in there about removing a stuck CD.

Default cd

i actually feed one too many cd's in the player not knowing a cd was already inserted. so now i had two cd's stuck. i used a third cd to remove the jammed cd's in the player. after fishing around in the slot the cd's pushed themselves out one at a time. the radio and cd player work as normal.

When cds got stuck on my 1996 LHS, my Chrysler dealer replaced the whole unit under warranty (I seem to remember I lost the CD, however).

After over 6 years I have never had another stuck CD. Before I brought it in for service I got the player to spit out some by nudging the stuck CD up with another CD, the tip of a nail file, etc. But when it kept happening I brought it back as a warranty problem.

If you can remember back that far, exactly how did you manipulate them?

isn't there a slot for a paperclip to fit in (kind of like your CD tray on the computer) that'll force it to eject? i think its a mechanical eject. just a guess --

Here's a .jpg. http://home.g-net.net/~cbrock/XFireRadio.jpg

It's a 2005 LTD
Infinity Modulus AM/FM Stereo Radio with Single-Disc CD Player.
A nail file in the left slot will attempt an eject, but the two CDs are jammed.

Thanks,
Candy

What's a CD? And what does a 'CD' player look like?

Happy iPod user.

i knew right away because on '05s the spoiler button has outlined wheels, and on the '04s they're colored in.

there might be a manual eject mechanism on the side of the unit.

Todd - The flat end of a crow bar inserted firmly into the slot for the cd will do the trick. Just gently wiggle it up and down a few inches. That will leave a nice gap you can get a pair of pliers into and just yank that sucker outta there!
Glad your cd player came to its senses and you won’t have to do this but hey if there is a next time you know what to do...you didn't hear it from me.

I have the nav and CD's get jammed all the time in there. Then when you select RAD (Radio) over CD and then back to CD then you get a STOP message. What has worked for me and saved me a trip to the dealer is I leave it in CD mode and while holding down the eject button i gently insert another crappy no good CD in the slot about half way forcing it downward onto the top of the one in there already and wiggle it while forcing it downward onto the other one and after about three attempts or four the CD ejects. Its a pain in the a*$ but it works.

I have the same problem with my high end dvd player at home and for 8 months I haven't used it because a CD got stuck inside. I bought a new one thinking it's about time that my DVD player quits. But last week, I decided to open it up hoping its more of a mechanical problem than a software one. And guess what? The CD was stuck in there probably because some sticky substance is smeared in the top CD label. Just try to wiggle it out using a credit card or a hard flat plastic to loosen it up. Unless a super glue made it stick to the player LOL!
