Unhappy Radiator Fan Control Module needs replacing

I did the tests in Ch 7.1 of the dealer book and have come to the conclusion (fan provides less than 5ohm resistance) that I need to replace the radiator fan control module.

I called O'Reilly and they couldn't find it, while the dealer said it was dealer-only and cost $407. They quoted part # 5102808.

Has anyone replaced theirs, or have any tips for where to get them cheaper than $407? ...I guess I could try a junkyard?

I found one for sale on ebay, brand new for about $50. I was going to buy it but forgot about it.
Search under Mercedes SLK320, not just Crossfire.
Edit
Check the part number on this one, used and more than $50 but ....

Isn't this the part that needed to be replaced in the recall? I could swear! The only recall notice I ever got on my car and I had the dealer do it. They said they did but I wonder if they really did

I had the module and the fan motor replaced on mine last year. Took 6 days to get the parts. All done under warranty and I put 600+ miles on the loaner that I had from the dealer.

Currently I only see one on ebay at $225 or best offer. Make a low-ball offer and see what they counter with.

I do recall seeing subject lines on this forum about cars being parted out. Search and ask about module for sale.

Good luck, James
