New owner.
Hello Crossfire owners,I am not new to the forum but never posted until now.I have owned my 2005 crossfire for 87 days now.I got it from a used car dealer here in the greater Seattle area. With 21,443 miles it was only $12,449.
Only problems so far is the tire pressure warning light is always on.Will look into it once the weather gets better. Also the right headlight burned out.The replacement bulb worked as it should but the warning light on the dash remains on even all the lights are working.Omg its a Mercedes alright.
Having owned and still owning nine mercedes and four present,it was a no brainer to acquire a Crossfire.I only hope it will never need a body part graphted on.
A coworker was so impressed with mine that he has been shopping for a similar deal. Mine is Blaze Red and he wants the Machine Gray.He cant drive a stick. He bought a 1964 mercedes 250sl with a stick 2 1/2 years ago and had some one drive it home for him.Hes never driven it.So an automatic is a must.He refuses to try learning a manual trans.
I have been doing all my work on the mercedes' since 1984 so really just learning the quirks of this one is a huge part of expediting repairs.
I have a great interest in the V8 conversion.Reading Lantanas conversion story was real interesting.
Its a real shame that the computers of these modern cars are such a royal pain.A plug and play conversion would be soooo convenient.
So im looking for another Crossfire for the conversion.I have the Mercedes 6.9 motor in my 77 450sel.Too big for a Crossfire?Lol

Re: New owner.
Congrats on the purchase of your Crossfire. Sounds like you got a great deal. Funny story about the friend that won't learn to drive a manual t. Reminds me of when I bought an older 5 speed 325I as my daughters first car. When we were looking she said she absolutly could not learn to drive the stick. When it appeared in the driveway she cried. A day and a half later she was shifting like a champ. After driving to school for two days the gas gauge had not moved off full. She proudly told me her car had not used any gas yet.LOL
Re: New owner.
Thank you for warm welcome. And thanks for the heads up.This is the first car i've owned that warns you if the license plate lights are burned out.Very high tech lol.I won't mention the cupholder Its a non issue really.Just wish it didn't pop up so easy.Brilliant engineering.I do fear it will be sheared off soon as its nearly happens every time its driven......The very very best part of owning it is my wife hates manual shift and only drove it once.....Very firm gates in the shifter.....so wonderful.......all mine lol,

Rexall,
Welcome to the forum, and to Crossfire! You've actually had yours longer than I've had mine. I still wander into the garage, just to look at it and smile.
Did the license plate light take care of the lamp warning? The PO to me that her license plate lights burned out frequently and were very expensive. I looked at some of her maintenance records, and understand better why she sold the car that she really loved. I know now why Chrysler has failed.
I think you got a great deal. Enjoy it!

I just replaced my Graphite Roadster's steering dampener last night - one hour of my time and $31 and it's done!
I don't know - Red or Graphite - hard choice....
