When I looked at them in the showroom I didn't really care for the roadster, but this week when I saw one on the road with the top down, it looked pretty sharp.

I thought they were nice till I saw that they are going for darn near 40 grand and all the goodies like leather runs it higher. Might as well get an SLK for that kind of money. Im just glad the Crossfire came and saved me from the dreaded 350Z/RX-8 decision....plus I saved several thousand over what one of those two would have cost loaded. Wow, paid less and got an SLK's cousin with fresher styling. 8)

Regardless of your muscular density, every pound of weight on the drive train, from the tires to the flywheel, becomes about 4 pounds of rotational mass which has to be moved. For every pound you decrease along the drive train you ease the engine of 4 pounds of rotational mass. The car will run more efficiently, rev to higher RPMs faster, and respond more quickly to the throttle, making the car all around faster and more efficient.

This is all I'm saying. The car runs great stock, by simply replacing the wheels with lighter wheels the car would run even better.

the theory is called "unsprung weight"& on this point i agree with you ! but lighten the wheel to much, and you loose your ability to put power to the ground,by allowing your wheels to spin , plus,go to soft & lite on the new wheels, and your risk of bending a high dollarwheel, will be enough to make you cry,out loud,in-public,on sunday!!!!!
