Impossible MPG ???
About a week ago I lost my only close access to "pure" 92 fuel.....I then added about 10 gallons of an ETOH 91 to fill it up. A few days later I found a 93 BP station which I'm pretty sure also has ETOH in it & filled to the brim & reset the trip meter. MPG looked great based upon the trip meter & where the fuel gauge was indicating....sure enough after 206 miles it was still way above the half way mark....I filled it up to the brim....& WOW....7.3 gallons was all I could stuff in the tank = 28.2 MPG !!!! Was not babying it either.
I've driven this '07 stick about 58,000 miles since new in Dec. of '07......usually runs 24-25 mpg....never calculated anything close to 28.2 mpg before. Is it possible this first tank of 93 with ETOH could get that much better than the 92 pure I was using for the last 2 years???? I always assumed the pure should get 3%-4% better than a 10% ETOH blend?????

I use the BP gas majority of the time around here...mine is between 26-28.....and I do not drive easily...I use Shell when ever I can, but none close to me now. I always liked Shell gasoline...but, can't say one is better than the other...I also like to buy gas where they turn it over quickly...high sales stations...
I usually average 2-3 MPG more on BP 93 than Shell premium. It has much more power with the BP over other gasoline brands. What I discovered is not all BP gas is alike. I know what you're thinking... the gas all came from the same truck....but I don't know if some of the underground tanks may have water in them or ???? All I know is the best BP gas around is at 87th & Goddard in Lenexa (Chris L should know where that is) . Try it next time you are out that way and you will be amazed. I can even tell the difference when I fill up my Scion with it.
The 93 (that I got the amazing mileage with) was from the BP at about 39th & Broadway. Filled it up again today at the same pump......can't wait to see in a few days if the results repeat. It was $3.64/gallon though.

I consistently get 28-29 mpg running Sunoco 93. Tried their 91 octane as an experiment and lost 1 maybe 1.5 mpg and noticed the power wasn't quite the same, throttle seemed a little "slow", no audible knocking or pinging, but the car ran like the crossfire I had when living in AZ- 4600' elevation may have been a factor there, but the highest availible octae was 91 (latern fuel as far as I'm concerned). Anyway, the 2 cents per gallon difference isn't worth the mpg and performance penalty.
When I had my 2004 SSB Coupe I was getting 30mpg on the highway.......
the Aero SRT6 gets 23mpg..still pretty darn good..
edit: everything in Oregon has Ethonol and 92 octane is our highest........

Thats some good mileage there, the best I get in town a very even 21.5 to 22 and on the highway just about 26. Maybe I need to lower the front end.
Last weekend I rejetted the Harley, I can get 42/44 with the small jets in it. I have a feeling I'll be riding that a bit more these days. Premo is running me between $3.65 up to $3.74, depending which end of town you at.

32 MPG for me.... doing 70 MPH on the highway. Drove 300 miles straight before I topped off the tank and did the calculation. I was amazed. I get more like 28 MPG around town.
I pretty much use the cheapest midrange I can find, that does not contain ethanol. I drive conservatively and average 27-28 highway. On a long slow trip (60-65) I got close to 31. I've used premium in both the Crossfires and my A6 and never noticed a difference in gas mileage. PS - Since I don't drive the Crossies much anymore, I switched to premium and noticed no difference in mileage.
I get about 20-22 around town but about 28-30 on the highway. My around town is a lot of sitting in traffic staring at the butts of the cars in front of me. My 1.5 mile commute takes 10-15 minutes. That's why my gas mileage stinks - when I can actually open her up & let her run she does quite well with the gas mileage.
During the summer, I can usually manage 27 in the city and 28-30 on the highway depending on which side of the speed limit I feel like driving on.
My all time record was 31.9 MPG on my through Souix Falls.

OK, the 28.2 mpg turned out to be bullshit .....next tank was just 24.1 mpg....no idea what happened?
I'd rather have a 90-92 pure as opposed to the 93 10% ETOH.

Just had my red coupe for about 3 weeks, and have used BP since picking it up. Checked my mileage today with a fill-up and and got 28.2. Color me happy!!!!
My gas mileage WAS very similar to KimPossiable.
Now my car is hovering around the 9-12 MPG. Might get better once I get on the highway and cruise at one speed but I doubt that is going to happen anytime soon.

Put one of these in and kiss your good gas mileage good by! I think if driven respectfully on the highway it can get around 18mpg. But I have not seen that number yet. I have not got enough seat time since the car has been done.
