Still amazes me how many people can beat the EPA city mileage by 50%. This is one amazing car. Probably the only one on earth car that can beat the EPA estimate on a regular basis.

Maybe it is different definitions of city driving. I commute 5 miles which includes 17 stop signs or lights and two RR crossings. Two of the lights take at least three cycles to get through. The max speed limit is 35, most is 25. A train usually means 5 minutes of no movement. It usually take me 25 minutes to go 5 miles.

When my car was new, I got 19.5 on my commute. Over the last 6 years that has dropped to 17.4. I attribute the drop to 10% ethanol. Highway has always been 24 to 27 range depending on the drive.

One last thought. From what I have read repeatedly over the years, octane has no bearing on MPG. Ethanol certainly does.

Wow, in my wildest dreams I could never imagine getting < 23......unless I left them in 3rd gear all day??

Over the course of a full year mine ave about 24-24.5....we do drive a lot of what most people would call highway driving.

Well... I just got 16.5 mpg with my car! Best so far and I now know it can do better than that if I try. Mostly highway but still plenty of playing around. I did recently take out the sprint booster because it made the car not easy to drive/control, and opened up the intake a little, I have been rolling on the throttle slower to keep wheel spin down to around 40 feet or so.

The more I drive the car the better mpg it is gets!!!

I just calculated mine this morning and I was just under 26 mpg. The car was mostly driven on the highway, with speeds all over the place. Anywhere from 60 mph to 105 mph and the occassional aggressive driving on the back road. I may have even used the AC a couple of times as well.

This tank, I'll try to be a bit more conservative on how I drive and see if it will improve the mileage even more. I was right around 24mpg with the winter blend of fuel.

The stick & auto are both getting 25-26 this month.....summer gas...92 no etoh....

Renting a RAV next month to drive thru Blackhawk-Durango (Mesa Verde) -Carlsbad (caverns)-Flagstaff...(Canyon Skywalk).....& leaving it at the airport in Vegas after a couple of nights there (flying back to KC) .....should put over 2500 miles on it that week.....hope gas stays below $4.

Would have loved to take one of the XFs.....but there's something about not having a spare tire in the wilderness that concerns me....
