Default Cupholder

I went to sonic bought a limeade i put it in my cup-holder in my crossfire , next thing i know it has a hole in it and the beverage is spilling all over my leather upholstery. Im like what were the Germans thinking ... im better off just putting a beverage in-between my legs

I think the cup holder design was a Chrysler thing, as the SLK320 is different.

I normally just put it between me and the center console next to the seatbelt even though I installed the cupholder between the seats.

Admittedly the cupholder is useless in a MT6 vehicle. I gotta ask if a styrofoam cup and the four prongs may have clued you in to the pending disaster? I learned long ago to carry my beer can between my thighs to avoid spillage. Gotta drink fast, or the beer gets warm.

Your thighs are the best cup holder 4 a crossfire, sometimes when I get a 1/4 of my monster down I will sqeeze and dend both sides lightly 2 get a proper fit No styrofoam in the car.....

To each his own with the cupholder. Searches here indicate dissatisfaction with it dating back to 2004, almost from the first post.

However, in the short time I have actually been able to drive my xfire, I noticed that styrofoam cups are a no-no. What little practicality these holders have is limited to cardboard coffee cups in the 8-12 oz range. Aluminum cans work as well, soda or juice of course. As always, YMMV.

I have to be drinking a nice 12 oz. cup of Green Mountain Roasters blend while driving my roadster. That's when I'm very contented.

I picked up on your humor. Some like the cupholder, others not so much. Me, I don't mind it. Know it limitations, that's all. Gotta use it though. The thought of hot coffee on my nards is almost too much to bear.
