The roadster is getting very good UK reviews, both the Sun and now car keys http://www.carkeys.co.uk/launches/chrysler/2883.asp like the car, which is 36kg heavier and therefore slower and despite underfloor bracing not as tight to drive.

My point is how can there be such a gap in reviews between the cuope and roadster? how can it go from a do taking a S**T to being a stuning head turner just by adding a (in my opnion) cheap canvass roof that lets the road noise in?

You have a point. I for one do not care for the XF roadster and think by chopping the top they have destroyed the cars stunning looks. While still somewhat of a good looking car, it is not that much different from the rest of the roadster's already out there. My only guess as to the sudden turn around is different reviewers or the guy likes cheap noisy canvass roofs???

I 100% agree. It looks too much like the other roadsters out there with its top cut off.
It loses its identity.

Drive one, you will change your mind. I love the drop top version. 90% of the time the top is down so road noise etc isn't an issue. However with the top up there isn't much noise to add compaired to the coupe version. I even thought weight would be an issue however it isn't. Even trunk space is pretty much the same size, as long as the top isn't down.

I was also not a fan of convertables, however this one I would have waited for.

90% hmmmm more like 10 - 20% in the UK so its a big issue if you can hear a change in wind noise as the wipers operate as now mentioned by 2 reviews.

 OK, that's a really cool picture of a 4 door crossfire. Here is my challenge to you: let's see a crossfire 4x4. You know, something like a monster truck set up. :P :P

show us the base image too so we can see how good you are! I like the change of the headlamps/foglamps and it looks like you lowered it as well but it's hard to tell unless we see the original. Either way you are really good with photoshop. Nice job!

Lord, Don't know if you read auto express but, I have noticed a worring trend amoung UK car reporters.

Look at the MG Rover line up. Most of the time they get a favorable review regardless of the car.

Look at the cars. Most of the time it is mix match bag of old tech from other brands like ford and honda. The Rover City is made in India and the reviews on that where Ok. At least as good the XF review.

So I ask myself why? Why can MG Rover base it cars on a larger mix bag of parts and get good reviews While the XF puts together something quite beautiful with good performace and economics but gets slated.

My 2 cents worth; The crossfire is a threat, Chrysler change the rules. A american car company put something together that catches the eye, made a car above the rest and showed Europe what can be done when you use creativeness rather than profit margins.

or Chrysler wont foot the bill for a favorable review on the coupe.

Looks like somebody took their Crossfire through a few too many McDonalds' drive-throughs.

maybe Cyril used the Airlifte as a base but that sure is a crossfire facia and a stretched wheel base. It isn't the actual Airlifte.
