OBD cable?
I am getting my ecu tuned from Eurocharged and they sent me the cable for the tune. Since I have the cable already is there any kinda software that I can run on my laptop to monitor my cars levels like rpm, temp, and stuff like that? Eurocharged is out of the shop till monday or I would have asked them. Thanks
It's a "Galletto" cable, which is basically an FTDI USB<->Serial chip attached to the pins on the OBD-II connector necessary to reprogram German ECUs. No off-the-shelf OBD/CAN software I've found so far seems to support Galletto cables (besides Galletto, of course, which is good only for flashing the ECU) - I'm working on doing some more research in that direction as well, though. I need to figure out how the cable is wired and how Galletto uses the chip (FTDI USB<->serial adapters can also be operated in a "bit bang" mode where the computer tells the chip to turn pins on and off individually instead of as a USB serial port, and I think this might be what Galletto does).
A different approach, but here's another way to go. PLX Kiwi - Kiwi Wifi, Kiwi Bluetooth, Kiwi MPG, Kiwi Drive Green OBD 2 Devices*
