Default Should I buy??

I'm looking at a 2004 Crossfire w/ 57000mi. I think I'm getting a good deal at $10k I'm just curious of the reliability at that mileage. Any thoughts. Thanks

I don't see milage being a reliability issue with this car at all. Check for rust on the lower door edges and run car fax to make sure it wasn't wrecked. Enjoy!

57K is just getting broken in, but there are some maintenance items around this mileage that need to be done, and if you are not good with a wrench, it can cost some cash (coolant, differential, possibly trans, etc)

Personally I don't think that's a very good deal, but maybe a fair deal. I recently purchased an '05 SRT6 with 66K miles for 11K and I've seen other '05 SRT's selling for similar numbers.

Consumer Reports recently listed the 2005 Crossfire as a good used car buy at $10-12k. So that price is a little high unless it is in immaculate condition. There have been a couple posts on this forum of vehicles running great with over 180k miles.

The problem is trying to find one in the 10 to 12k price range. Dealers are asking more then that even for cars with quite a few miles on them. Have searched in cars.com and autotrader and there just isn't anything in that price range.

Don't buy from a dealer if you want to get a good deal.

LIke West said, do not go to a dealer, try a private seller instead.

Dealers still think they are worth more than they are, and most of them, eventually get what they are asking, many private sellers, especially in this economy, may sell a car cheap (read: quick) to get out of a bad situation.

I have bought both of mine from individuals, and have had no issues.

Well, I guess the good news is that they are either retaining or increasing in value. More likely is that dealers can hold out for price for 60-90 days and these are pretty much summer cars, so the price drops in the fall and winter.

Good news only if you're selling.
