Default new rims and tires

Ok, I have put some new photos in my gallery. I admit, I still haven't figured out this upload thing. I tried to do 4 photos at once and when I looked none was there. So then I did one at a time and there they were. So now I want to add a thumbnail to this post to make it easy for folks but dang it if I know how this will work. LOL! But if you go to my gallery at the very least the new rims and tires are there.

I like them. They look awesome. BTW, you should be able to load multiple pics, but there's something wrong with the gallery. I've looked at it, but it's not a config issue. Send a note to Mightyjlr. Maybe he'll respond to you. He's not responding to me.

I love the 5 star rims...What is the offset of the rear wheels? From the picture, it appears to be tucked in too much...Maybe just the picture is affecting my eyes.

the fronts are +32, the rears +35 offsets. I think the issue looking at them is the rears have a deeper dish than perhaps I'd have liked, but that's the way they are, because they are 9.5's and the fronts are 8.0's so the spokes are more inset. I might go to a 10mm spacer on the rears, but then I might have to get even longer bolts. I'm not a big fan of huge tires sticking out too far, like they did in the 60's. I'm a bit too old for that.

I just wanted a rather simple and clean lines to the wheels, not overly noticeable, but one that just fit in with the silver colors going on, the strakes, the clamshells on the door and the surround, so that it all went together.

I'm glad though I didn't go the 285's on the rear. That would have been I think a bit too much.

I just put a 12mm spacer on the rear of my new wheels with 35 offset and 274/30-20, makes it look much more aggressive, just fills the wheel well better, but NO part of the wheel or tire extends beyond the fender....

How could someone that keeps such an immaculate car fail to dress the tires? Oh, the shame of it.

I like the wheels. Can't remember seeing any with that big a lip on the front. Must make things kind of snug around the brakes.

waht a cad, Uncle Al, to be pointing out my shame! This weekend was all rain, and driving thru mud, this was the first nice afternoon, and I wanted to get pics up. Got Ilsa washed just before as the mechanic had his greasy hands all over her flanks. The tires still had mounting lubricant on them. Planning on a full wash and shine as soon as it's more stable.

Congrats on the new wheels! They look great! We'll have to get another local Crossfire meet going soon so I can see them in person.

Boiler, where did you get your spacers? I was looking at it and the fronts are flush with the wells, and the rears are inset somewhat, and I think you're right that spacers would look a bit better especially with that deeper rear dish. Anything in particular to know, hubcentric or something else? measuring them it looks like either 10 or 12 MM would be about right as you mentioned. Therefore do you also need longer lugbolts?

never mind Boiler, my question, as I just did a search and found my answer.

I see you found your answer, congrats. I personally would use nothing but hub centric spacers and definitely make sure you have enough bolt on the rear, but not too much because of the dreaded Ebrake

Good luck, I do think she will look good with spacers, and I got mine for $50 a pair, let me know if you want a link or the guys number...

Thanks Boiler, and a link when you get the chance would be great. I have to cool it on buying stuff for the old girl, ala Green-ghost's issues in my own house, but when I get later in the year and get to rotate the skins then all of a sudden the wheels will look a bit pushed out than they were before.b Funny how that happened

interesting. when I put these on, there was no tps on them, which I didn't care one way or the other, but when I drove out on them for the last 3 days the light didn't come on. odd i think. This afternoon I installed the lit doorsills from KPI and when I turn the car on the tps light is on? That's really odd to me, because even if I'd tapped on the TPS wire in the harness behind the seat, which I don't think is there then the tps doesn't go on with the door open and off with it closed as do the lights. weird huh???
