Blinking fuel light & P0455 code
Blinking fuel light & P0455 code
Hello,
Does anyone had the blinking fuel light and the P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak) code?
I searched the forum, and found some members had such problems. However, all thread were at least 3 years old, and there were no conclusion of the cause or how to fix. Some suggested (and replaced) the fuel cap, while some was the fuel sensor.
I'm wondering if there are any updates.
Thanks!

Re: Blinking fuel light & P0455 code
When you fill the tank do you stop when the pump clicks off or do you try to squeeze more in to round it off to an even dollar amount? If you do that it can cause the fuel light to blink. Over filling it can cause fuel to get in the evaporative emissions system. I found this out when I first bought my car. If I squeezed in a little more after the pump first stopped. The light would come on after it got to about a 1/2 tank. It hasn't blinked sense I stopped trying to squeeze a little more in.

I guess changing the gas cap is my next step. I found this on amazon ( Amazon.com: Stant 10843 Fuel Cap: Automotive ) Does anyone knows if I got the correct one? Thanks.
Same thing happened on me. First the blinking light once a few weeks, then once a few days, then the P0455 code. Now both blinking light and P0455(after I reset) came on everyday.
Where are the vacuum lines located? or do I just inspect all the black rubber hose under the hood?
No, I stop at the clicks, although I might have did it a long time ago.
