Service indicator mileage?
I bought my car about 2 months ago with 22,501 miles. Changed the oil, reset the meter, and I now have 29,000 miles. It still shows another 2300 miles until service on the wrench menu... am I wrong in thinking that is inaccurate?
You have driven about 6500 miles and it says you have 2300 to go. That would be 8800 miles between changes. I have heard of members here going 9,000 or 10,000 miles before.
I would not do so, but I have heard of the FSS telling drivers to go these distances before.
My personal limit is 6,000 miles - I just won't leave even synthetic oil in there any longer.
But that's just me.

The FSS does not compute the actual miles you have driven.
It more measures driving habits and measures engine temps and RPM levels... city / highway driving and determines the oil viscosity breakdown to inform you of when it is time to change the oil.
I personally keep track of my miles and change it between 6000 and 7000 miles regardless of what the FSS says.

Maybe that answers your question?
