Default Ouch! UK price for Illuminate scuff plates

I've spoken to a number of dealers in my area and these illuminated scuff plates in the UK are being sold for 336.79+VAT = 396. That equates to $704 !!!!! And that doesn't include fitting. In the US it is $350. How can they justify twice the price for the same item compared with the US prices? I'm angry as I really wanted them but not at that price.

Default sill plates

If you can install them yourself, I would be willing to purchase them here and ship them to you. I sell things on ebay. We could go that route if you are familiar with ebay. I think $350 is high.

I didn't even stop to think. You could order them yourself and have them shipped to you. Here is a link to a reputable dealer.http://<a href="http://www.wyckoff-m...art right out.

Thanks Harry. That site is selling them for $359.95. You previously said you thought $350 was high. PM me with what you can get them for and the shipping costs to the UK. I'm already set-up on eBay and PayPal so that's easy enough to do.

You should check with Adam's (DFWSBR) buddy to see what kind of price he can get for you.

Here was his original post:

Tired of paying FULL PRICE on dealer parts?

The guys over at Huffines Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep are making life a little easier on all of us. They have extended great discounted prices on oem parts / accessories for the Crossfire Forum Club. They are one of our largest parts volume dealers in the Southwest. They can ship parts out to any location in the US.

Here is what we get:
- 25% off list price on oem parts
- 20% over dealer cost on Mopar Accessories
- 10% over cost on performance items (if they ever become available for Crossfire)

Here is how you get it:
(800) 284-7902

You can speak to anyone at the parts counter.

Let them know you will be taking advantage of the Crossfire Forum Club Discount!

All they will need from you is the last 8 digits of your vin number and the parts you are looking for.

If you have any issues, please contact me.

It might be worth a try.....

Good luck!!!!

Thanks Adam. I spoke with Jef @ Huffines. He said the price is $321.20 which is their cost price. Shipping to the UK is about $100 so total of $421.20 which works out at about 237 total. That is a whole 100 ($178) cheaper than I can buy it in the UK for :-)

Suffice it to say I have placed an order!

Many many thanks for all your help on this. It is really appreciated.

Weird.. the guy on the phone earlier gave me a different price, but he didn't really sound like he knew what he was doing . Maybe he pulled up the wrong item.

Glad you got it all worked out in the end. I guess its best to speak to Jeff when he isn't at lunch

Yeah, Jeff asked if I was after the normal or Illuminated ones. I guess the other price was for the normal ones.

Oooo, now that is a question! I had to do quite a bit of bartering and played a few dealers off against each other, but I finally got the following deal:

Brand New X-Fire.
Auto gearbox
Metallic paint
Retractable Boot Cover
Total price: 25,250.00

Putting down 2,500 deposit which gives me a monthly payment of 355.64 (48 monthly payments). Final settlement figure of 11,550.00
APR was 8.9% using Chrysler finance from the dealership.

The dealer located near my house wanted 28k for it without the boot cover and monthly payments of 460 !!!! So I got it from the Cannon Lane dealership in Luton. Speak to Raph Fearon there, nice chap and he spent loads of time with me. I had 3 test drives in a row comparing the auto / manual gearboxes!

I called them about a week ago and was told that Jeff dealt with their Ebay sales. They told me I needed to talk to Kelly about the forum discount. It might be worth another call to make sure they quoted you the forum discount price and not their Ebay price.

He quoted me their cost price so they can't go any lower than that. Anyway, I've ordered now and it has still saved me a load of money so I'm happy.

The Sarge, I'll let you know how easy they are to fit when they arrive. Yes I am stuggling to sleep and keep waking up with drool on my pillow! B.T.W, the Canon Lane dealership hardly made any money on my deal. They want the registrations more than anything so they can offer better prices than privately owned dealerships.

As long as you mention CrossfireForum.org, they will give the reflected discounts. Because it was quite new they probably had to confirm with Kelly first. Kelly is the Wholesale Parts / Mopar Performance Parts Guy.

I just had him speak to Jeff because he was available today. Once you guys use the discount more often, all the guys will become familiar with our discount.

If there are any issues and no one there can help, tell them it is the same as the Mopar Club Discount.

Picked mine up last Friday Sapphire Silver Auto Ex Demo 22750
3700 miles. Plus; one of the alloys was damaged so they put a new set with tyres on from a brand new car bargain!

Nice, I looked at an ex. demo but someone had scratched the leather seats so I wasn't too impressed with it. How have you found your first few days as an X-Fire owner then?

Adam,

Do you think it would be possible to get the guys at Huffines to post a price list on the forum somewhere? It would probably stop them from getting a lot of calls just to check prices.

I am glad it worked out for you, but I am still at a loss as to why they would be so much more expensive in the UK!!!!!

Have a great time with your car!!!!!
