Default To check gas milage

I have had only one time been able to turn that left ****, to check my gas milage. What's with that? Is there a secret way to make it work?

Thanks!!

If you turn the left **** it changes the brightness of the instruments.
You should push it in and hold it for a second or two and it will reset the trip to zeros!!!!!!

and push the left button twice quickly and it will tell you how many miles until your car needs to be serviced.

Hey, thanks you guys!!

I was trying it at the gas station with the motor on, and while driving.

Just went out (without) my keys and it worked!

Maybe it doesn't work while the car is running, Thanks again so much

Mine works either with or without key in.

Seems when I have tired it before, it would throw a bottom odd number, which now I know is the service miles, and the top one would be blank.

Then it would reset to the same numbers as before.

I have been trying this since March, lol

Thanks

Hi...

The "tripometer" reset **** also checks the engine oil level...

Think like this... or read the owner's manual...
Turn ignition key to on...
Do not start the car...
Wait ~10 seconds until the tripmeter shows the service interval milage...
Then press the **** in 2 times... and the oil level status displays... has 4 possible displays... OK or 3 others for various oil levels... (see manual)...

Dave...
