Introduction and Thank You
Hello folks. My name is Don and I live in Oberlin, OH. On a trip to Dallas about 3 weeks ago, my wife spotted a white Crossfire and fell in love with it. She asked me what it was and I told her. She asked if she could have one and I said....sure...why not.
So, when we got back to Ohio, I started looking around and found that there were some really good deals out there on these cars. She and I are both fans of white cars so I finally found what I HOPE to be a very nice 2004 Crossfire Limited with just under 32,000 miles on it. I did enough research to know that I was paying top dollar for it but it had the color, mileage and etc. that I wanted so though it wasn't a fantastic deal, it was a good enough deal so I bought it yesterday. I only took it for a test drive and then turned it over to my wife. She is already in love with it.
Now I run a forum very similar to this one but mine is dedicated to a certain brand and model of motorcycle. So I know the value of a community such as you have here and immediately got online and started looking for a forum dedicated to this car. I was very happy to find this place.
One thing that I noticed right off the bat was the sticky key issue. That was the first thing that I noticed when I got in the car and the first thing that I started researching last night. With the information that I have found here on that issue, this site has already saved me some money. So thank you for that information.
I'm sure that I'll end up with more questions over the next days and weeks and am thankful to all of you whom share so much information here.

Thank you. Quick question. What is the A I Ipod controller? One of the first things I will be doing it trying to figure out the cleanest looking way to add satellite radio to this car. I also have an Ipod that I would like to use.
Welcome Don and wife with great taste in cars! Be sure to fix that key before it locks up completely. There are basically two ways to fix. replace with new and risk it happening again or modify the existing one so that it can't ever lock up again but you lose the steering lock. I went with option 2. I also learned to not let this go very long the hard way as I eventully had to have the car towed home.

Don,
Welcome to Crossfire, and to the forum. This is a great group and a remarkable source of information. I hope you and your wife enjoy the car as much as Cathy and I have enjoyed ours. I think the car is so undervalued that you can afford to pay top dollar and still have a great deal.
From what I've read, I understand that the satellite radio modification only works with the radios with navigation.
Don't save it, drive it!

Welcome Freebird. enjoy the ride.
As for the permagrin, there is no cure.
However we have this rather motley crew as a support group. Best we could do with what we had.

HI Don, funny we were in Texas about 3 weeks ago too.
You two picked a great color for the Crossfire, but really there are no "bad" colors.
We live about 70 miles from you, but one of the best looking "alabaster" Crossfires on the forum is right next door to you.
Check out the "Fritzauf" gallery. He lives in Amherst.

Welcome, from another Buckeye.
To the best of my knowledge, no 2004s were Limiteds, and none had Nav. Both those options started in 2005.
Good luck with your puchase. I hope to meet you at a future event. One coming up in a couple weeks. It is not too late.

Yea, I'm certainly still just learning but from what I've read so far, the 2005 models that were equipped like the 2004 became the Limited in 2005 and they introduced a "base" model that had less options. I guess that is why I thought my '94 was called a limited.
