Default Changing the compression ratio and blowing her

Hi all,

Had my lovely Blaze Red for about three weeks now and I've already cought the 'enhancment' bug. Can any of the mechanically minded out there tell me what is invovled in changing the compression ration from 10:1 to 9:1 so that I can put a mercedes benz supercharger on it?

I don't have access to the Renntech team here in Australia and want to approach one of the garages that specialise in this sort of thing, but I want some back ground knowledge first so that I get what I want.

Thanks in advance,
Brett

It is not much but here is the Q&A that I had with Renntech:

Q:I have looked at the PDF of upgrade packages that you currently off for the Crossfire. What I do not see is a package that just has the supercharger upgrade like the SRT-6 has. The only packages you offer revolve around a 3.8 conversion.

No, the supercharged version is a 3.2 liter, 404 HP, 410 torque $22,995.

Q: Can you quote me on how much just the supercharger upgrade (~330 hp) would
be?

You would do better to get a naturally aspirated 3.8 $9985. To get the even the normal 330 supercharged power, you have to rebuild the engine with lower compression pistons, special rods and crankshaft, than you have to add the same supercharger with intercooler that AMG uses, after that you need to do the electronics. So to get it to 330 Horsepower would be about $16,000 to $18,000 that is why we offer a 404 HP version.

Q: Secondanly, would anything have to be done to the 6 speed manual to handle the toruqe?

On one of the SLK's we did, ordered a special high performance clutch, not a bad idea.

hope that helps some..
