Default Cabin Air Filter (where is it?)

I bought a new cabin air filter for my 2004 coupe, but I can't find anything in my owner's or factory manual on how to replace it. The owner's manual says that there's a "dust filter" but nothing more than that. There seems to be nothing in the factory manual about it. Can someone tell me where it is and how to change it?

Not to be a jerk.... But do a search. It is very easy to do. This is one of the most talked about subjects. You may even find the thread with pictures that explain exactly how to do it.

I am not the type to give people a hard time asking about subjects that have already been covered. But you ask about replacing the cabin filter... Come on already.

If I did the search three years ago on this there is no reason why you can't. Please put in a little effort.

Thanks for the advice. However, it would have been nice if you had made your point with a little less condescension.

I had a similar reaction when I joined years ago but it was the best advice I got. The stuff you can find when you learn how to define your search is amazing. It still frustrates me from time to time however. Good luck with the cabin filter replacement.

Changing a cabin filter is pretty common... and there are a million threads on this subject. You are certainly smart enough to use unnecessary high dollar words (Condescension). I hope you are smart enough to use a search feature.

I generally don't mind people asking the same question over and over. I understand some people just want a quick answer. Some people are trying to make repairs and get frustrated.... so the first reaction is to start a new thread. I GET THAT! But we are talking about cabin air filters here! Been there and done that a million times! There have been some great threads with instructions and pictures on this site. I don't see why I should have to do a search then post a link on his thread when he could just do the search himself.
