Average Gas Mileage
I've had 2 Crossfires now: an '04 and an '08. The '04 had a 6 speed, while the '08 has an automatic. Both attained about the same mileage: 23 in the city and 26 on the highway.
I cannot reach the 30 mpg mark. However, I do recognize that if I were to slow down and use less air conditioning, my mpg would undoubtedly improve.
While I'm not at all unhappy with the mileage, I
continue to wonder if this is representative of most of our cars.

I think that's about average for our cars, this has been my experience.

Highway I get the same 26
I don't do the gas math any longer, just drive and enjoy. But when I did calculate the MPG, like on road trips, we did get in the mid to upper 20's highway and low 20's to upper teen's for city driving. I'm no WOT driver, but I'm not an egg under your foot driver either...
I do track my gas mileage and at 37k, my roadster regularly turns in 27-28 mpg at 70-80 mph. On a couple lower speed trips, it pushed 30. I don't do a lot of around town driving, but it seems to be close to ~20 when driven gently. On the other hand, the SRT6 withh 18k barely achieves 18 around town and won't average more than 23 on the highway - of course, those frequent bursts to 90-100 don't help to conserve fuel. My son's 2007 with the MT6 averaged right around 30 on a trip from MI to FL at legal speeds.
I keep track of my mileage & operating costs on all my cars. I don't spend too much time tracking between city & highway, unless I have a long trip worth tracking (e.g., CAA2010 = 25.7 mpg). XFire results are posted below.

I've consistantly been getting 21 to 22 MPG, about half of my daily trip to work is on I-4 and the other half is down US 441 stop light to stop light and all city driving going home about 23 miles each way (you can't buy a spot on I-4 in the afternoon).
I did a trip from Orlando to just south of Melbourne and got just over 26. These are realistic numbers from actual driving and no BS.

In my small town there isnt really any traffic. I also drive 6 miles from my house to the first stop light and at that point about 2 more miles to work hitting a few stops. I average 28.6 but it is mostly highway given my commute. That tank is still "city" but like I said there isnt any traffic. I took a trip to san diego not long ago and hit almost 90 miles per 1/6th of a tank the whole way down. That changed as I hit LA and drove around san diego for a while. I still averaged 29 while I was there but we were mostly in the hills of riverside so it was still mostly highway. With the wing up and "spirited" driving...... I dont even figure it lol
Edit: While I was on the way to san diego I was following my dad who drives 5 under the speed limit.

Thanks for posting the charts. They not only look good but they are fairly accurate for our Limited Roadster (although I think we might be getting a little better gas mileage as my wife drives the car).
mine was getting consistently 24 in the summer commute, normally about 65-70 on the freeway, and about half that for the other half of the commute on suburban streets. then when colder weather hit i was hetting about 22. On a long trip to Chicgao this summer I averaged 28, so at times I'm sure it was pushing 30.
I was wondering about this too...here is the data since we've owned our car...the 25 mpg entries are a trip to Bandera and Devine, and back...guess we're in the ballpark...ours is an automatic.

Hi
I have had my xf from 2004 and still getting 28mpg town and country. Manual Box and now 80,000 miles. A few problems with no starts and altenator problems but that is just about the only costs incurred. Fuel here in Northern Ireland is £ 1.47p per litre so a light touch on the accelerator is needed.

On a 1200 mile trip to Florida, strickly highway driving at around 70 mph average, I registered 28.3 mpg as per my UltraGuage monitor.
I did not push it (much), and had the A/C on for about 1/2 the drive time...
I'm thinking if I kept it at 55 mph, I'd push on close to 30 mpg, but my head would explode from the utter boredom...
No one should be buying these cars for the gas mileage, if that's your primary concern, your missing the big picture...
