Water in petrol/gas cap housing?
Just wondering if rain getting into the housing unit that holds the petrol/gas cap is a common fault & is it problematic or just one of those things?

The gas door itself offers no water intrusion protection.

If its blocked and why should that be I have to wonder, stick a piece of wire down the tube. the tube exits at the rear of the wheel under the fender, it should be visible.

My I suggest pouring some water there in the fueling area and see what happens to it. Not a ton of water just about a .5 cup or so. That way you will have some idea of how fast or slow it drains.
I have an air compresser with a tube connection that powers one of our machines at work so I can use that to blow air into the overflow to see if it unblocks it, will then test to see how it drains afterwards.

Mother Nature loves our cars.
Mice used my muffler as a Provisional Warehouse, and upon changing my original factory air filters this Spring, I discovered they had a taste for air filter elements.
Mine was clogged when I first got it. It put a very long pipe cleaner through it and a small almost pill like looking object was forced out the bottom. Not sure what it was or how it got in there but once it was removed, it drains fine and I haven't had an issue since.

I picked the car up in the States, so I am guilty of importing plant material without a permit. I assume the mouse has long since baled, no smells anyway.
Blew air from the pipe located at the bottom of the fender upwards & a load of thick black mud blew out and now drains fine
Thanks for all the help folks
