It's actually got some weight to it and when you tap the inside it sounds like wood. There was more thought put into it than just a simple plastic shift ****. It's heaviest closest to the numbers.

BTW it appears to be made from some plastic core, but the outside is covered in the same finished foil overlay that the pull-handles are covered in. Feels plastic, until it starts peeling and slices your hand open.

Mine has a spot rubbed through it. Its just painted plastic. There is a small metal core that they molded the plastic around, its really only there as a way to mount it. I can take a pic of the worn through spot if anybody cares.

 

Mine grows everytime I drive my car and hot women is around. After a lot of manual shifting some sort of fluid starts leaking.. Anyone else have this occurance?
