While driving my Crossfire, I see other Crossfire drivers on the road. We usually give a wave or thumbs up. Maybe there should be a recognized salutation...?

 

Can put out your spoiler, although that might take awhile and might mistakenly be taken as a sexual advance that you were excited to see them. Maybe thumbs up will do for now, although I tend to flash my brights when I see one coming in the opposite direction as I wave.

 

I use the standing lights, winking them back and forth a few times. Anybody can wave, not a lot of other cars on the road can do that. Did it to an SLK the other day, he did it back, grinned, and waved.

WARNING: do not try this at night, since it shuts off the headlights!!!

 

FYI: Unless you have either modified your wiring, shut the car off while driving, or are full of it, the standing lights on the crossfire do not work when the ignition is on. :roll:

I have noticed... there are quite a few stuck up MILFs that drive the crossfires here in Michigan.... they may not wave but they are pretty hott :lol:

I've still have yet to see another younger person (no offense to anyone) driving the Xfire in Michigan though

it relates cuz all the younger people in Jeeps wave at me but many of the adults lack the waving knowledge...

and second... no matter what we come up with... the snobs of Michigan Xfire owners will not do it... cuz they are @H0l3s

BUT whatever we decide count me in for sure!! right now I do the little two finger lazy peace sign salute... not the peace sign cuz they are kinda connected ... I do the same for the jeep! ... unless I pull up next to a Xfire owner then I look like a rabid raccoon clawing at the window begging for a response... :lol: Which I've yet to ever get anything ... It's times like that that I'm happy I dont have a firearm... :lol:

Today I saw a Blaze Red Crossfire with temporary plates (less than 1 month old) in traffic. When I pulled up alongside, a very cute young lady was smiling, waving, and giving me the OK sign. I waved back. She definitely had the "Crossfire Smile" on her face.....

That is only the second Crossfire I have seen in Youngstown. The other was black.

Sorry.. I'm used to ripping on Ohio often because of well... I'm from Michigan... we make fun of you like we make fun of Canadians...

It's not the fact that its Michigan owners... its the fact that its the area where most of the Xfires are owned... they are coming from areas where people really have no barring on money at all... they could careless about anyone... and anything except their money

 

You are undoubtedly correct about the Crossfire. I just walked outside, started my car, and you are correct the standing lights do not come on.

However since I couldn't see if they were on or not while driving, and can't speak to any mods on the SLK i saw do it, I can't say for sure if he did it because he saw mine or did it because of some way he had modified his. I did flip the switch back and forth and waved, I saw his standing lights flicker back and forth which I ***umed was in response.

Whether an SLK is setup different, or modified to be able to do it, I think it's cool. I'd like to be able to do it with a Crossfire.

 

I don't know about your part of the country but down here most folks who know anything about Jeeps do wave. In fact it seems the one's that don't wave are the younger people going to ASU that just bought them as an image thing.

 

Strange... Here in Michigan Jeeps arent for the Image... most of the jeeps are all older and usually nice mudders! 4x4'ing with many different vehicles is a huge thing in Michigan Most kids grow up around 4 wheelers and what not around here...

1st actual powered flight of a heavier than air craft - Wright Brothers - OHIO

DaVinci designed and built a glider that injured the pilot and he abandonded ever trying it again. He also did some drawings of what some say might be the beginnings of a helicopter, but I don't think that would classify as being the inventor.

At least that is what I remember reading. I may have to do some research on those to verify it.

Yeah, but they did their flying in Kitty Hawk, NC (my folks live < 1 mile from where their workshop was located).

Isn't it also disputed that some Frenchie actually flew BEFORE the Wright brothers Kitty Hawk adventures???
