Ahh crap... here comes more.. "car stalled at a stop light..then started again 5 minutes later"
um yea? funny guys, but 5hrs almost 300mile drive, 80mph straight I think she did pretty good (blasted AC the whole trip) plus no cut outs at 60mph on the highway, i would think she passed, and thank you all for your support

My evaluation of this car is she's really just got one "downfall", and that is the RCM solder job. Other than that, it seems to be more or less typical type issues you can find with most any car, but at least you still look good standing beside this one along side the road. Fixing my cps in the parking lot still had 4 "nice looking car" comments...
And having this forum as opposed to "fixya dot com.. 10 mechanics online now" makes ownership and repairs a whole lot less intimidating.
And here's just a sample.. My wife's 07 Tahoe has decided not to completely release the manual rear hatch..for some reason..you can hear the latch release, and pull it about a half an inch and that is it.. Try finding a solution for it. Now pick a problem someone has had for a Crossfire and get ready for pages of information.

I love my crap, I'm in love with the power in all 6 gears of my crap, I look coupish in my crap and get 10X more stares in my crap than my taurus, I swear I will NEVER sell this crap!
The only downside I see to one of these cars is how quick they are to total one out with an accident.. Really my biggest fear about the car.
i think the design is one of the boldest to come along in a long time. I first saw one at a trade show in 2004 and vowed I would one day own one. I went to dealerships and test drove the silver coupe. It was love at first sight. In 2007 I bought my 2005 graphite gray roadster. Both the coupe and roadster have their own unique lines that are beautiful and clearly distinctive from anything else on the road. I have had so many looks and comments from people and many neophytes that thought it was a Porsche. Whenever i am in a hurrry it gets me there and away from the crowd at every inrersection, the pick up response always pushes me back in the seat with such exhilaration that i always arrive at my destination with a smile. The first winter i had it i drove to my radiation treatments with the roof down, heated seat on, and the climate control on and I was toasty and smiling with the tunes up. When you drive this car you feel no pain. I must say, this is the best car group I have belonged to. Being here solved my trunk problem! Whenever my eye wanders or I get lax about loving this car I remember all the fun and joy it has given me.
they're **** cars! I've had mine towed every week for the last 150 weeks. This is getting really expensive. I spent over 250,000 dollars just to drive this car for 3 year. This is just crazy! The towing fees alone are going to bankrupt my family!
Oh, just kidding. Great cars.

Gotta get me one of them 'climate control' things. Mine just has 2 ***** and 2 funky spin rollers ......., now my Concorde Limited : you set it on 72, you got 72 rain or shine .
I bought mine with only 3800 miles on it and it now has about 8000. It looks beautiful with no cosmetic problems but has and continues to give more trouble than my 50 year old Covairs of which I have several. The RCM failed, actually several times before it stayed failed so it could be diagnosed. The self dimming mirror stays dimmed, and a side mirror broke. The tire pressure sensors are useless. There seems to be no end. The vehicle is just too complex and unreliable to be useful transportation.
A contributing problem is that the local Dodge/Chrysler dealer knows nothing about a Crossfire and I had to resort to the Mercedes dealer to find the RCM problem. Thank goodness I have a reliable Corvair to fall back on.

I have over 100K on mine and haven't had a significant problem. Only one light in the overhead console works due to a bad socket and that is the only problem so far. Except for the back window falling out but that is one of the charms of the roadster. It looks like that will be fixed under recall. I have damaged two front rims by hitting a rather large hole at fairly high speed but I don't blame the car for that.
I have a friend with a 'vette of similar vintage and he is starting to have electronics problems. he had to replace the computer once and now stuff on the dash is getting flakey. I keep my cars until they die and all of them start to have electrical problems after 7 years or so.

Mine decided to come down and visit Monday morning.. sewing pins installed for temp.. almost like that tufted button look.. LOL. Track down a reputable shop is on the list now. PO's wife "does interiors" and has offered.. but just don't know if I want to go there on this. Paying for it I will be expecting near - if not - perfection.
There is a new thread on this "Roadster rear window TSB-Rev A". The NHTSB modifed the service bulletin on the 2005 Roadster to cover all states. Used on only cover 'southern states' which was S.C. and below. My dealer says my window is covered but is still giving me a run around on actually fixing it.
I'm disappointed to hear some of the horror stories...ours is a daily driver, and besides the spark plug change I did last month, hasn't given us a bit of trouble...bought in February with just shy of 104,000 on the clock, now has more than 110,000...minor stuff like the valve cover leaks that were easily repaired don't count...
