thats true, but do they have a dyno. i mean, if the horsepower was dyno proven, shouldnt they provide you with a copy of the dyno? if they have one cool! post it.

Here is the part that I don't get. The performance strong suits for this car are found in the twisties and on top end. It also stops with the best of them. It is average at best in straight line performance. You seem fairly knowledgeable about perforamce stuff so this was not news to you. It seems to me that you are going to go to a lot of effort to make this car something it is not. In the process you may well lose some of what it is. I just read that the new vette does 12.7 in the quarter for under $45K. Why not do this instead if you want to play stop light bandit?

I don't like NOS for all of the reasons that you don't want to hear. The one thing it will do for you is quickly identify the weak link in your drive train. Keep us informed. This should prove interesting.

You do all that stuff, post a valid dyno sheet, then thump your chest. Until then, you're engaging in wishful thinking and swallowing whole claims of vendors.

 

I feel sorry that the box for my muffler was left in the shop where I have it installed. Maybe Doc still has the box and maybe he can post it here to show the dyno results.

 

exactly. this is not a personal attack on boba, im just trying to help other people think twice about dropping a grand on a muffler because of unfounded claims on power increase. you notice how boba was unable to provide a dyno sheet from any website or anywhere regarding his muffler. again, not a personal attack, its just that i feel for the same types of claims that you have boba, im young too, i think we're actually the same age. its just that we tend to get excited and blow money on stuff thats not worthwile. Just dont expect too much, and dont encourage others to buy something by stating power numbers that aren't proven. hope it works out for you buddy.

 

I called startech about their cams, they cost 4 grand. that company is a joke. is there anyone else who makes cams for this engine?

I dont have dyno's because I dont have the exhaust... so its kinda hard to get it on a RR when its not in my hands yet! :wink:

This week or next Eisenhaus will be complete in making my personal exhaust and will be shipping it from Germany to my home... after I install it ill tell everyone what I feel about it... and I can use one of those little plug in things and tell you the difference between my ECU + Filter car -> ECU + Filter + Exhaust... then the change will tell us if its worth it or not...

 

I never said that you should post personal dyno's, i was just curious to see if you could find any from the company, because in order for them to make those claims they must have dyno tested, right? if they don't have them on their website, or wherever they advertise, that would seem strange to me because thats the best way to sell performance items, by posting your dyno proven power. As for your sig, i hope i am not one of those people. all i, and most of us try and do, is engage in a debate with you. it is not meant to be anything personal. you have contributed well to this forum, you shouldnt stop.

If the company states the power gains, they WILL HAVE a dyno print-out. Otherwise they are lying.
