Also is anyone able to confirm i the ABS module is VIN specific, or are they pulling my leg on that as well?

Just a quick update. I ended up finding a 2004 ABS Module and had it installed. Seems like the car is running as good as new.

thank you for posting your final result, i got the same situation and just ordered a new abs module, hopefully install it this week.

It's right there next to the hydraulic control unit which is just ahead of the underhood fuse box on the driver's side of the engine compartment. They call it the "CAB", )Controller Anti-Lock Brake) module.

This may be a long shot with how old this is but here I go. After replacing the module did the codes/lights go away or did they have to be cleared by dealer?
