How does one know if it's time for new shocks? Fred has almost 82,000 miles on the clock & I can't detect any (or I've been slowly numbed to) deterioration in ride...? Still has the original brake pads too.

Not too hard, I did it, its justa thing and you have to turn the crank so to speak. I did a small write up on how I did the rear adjustment screws which I used to make loose loose for the drags tonight. Woody

Pretty straight forward, worst part is drilling the old cover holes out to accept the larger rod on the konis. Also don't forget the bump stops, if you plan on lowering in the future you could trim them now to avoid having to do it later.

OFF TOPIC: but based on your signature, I would love to see a few pictures of your ride!
I was disappointed when your user gallery was empty.

I about spit my drink all over my computer when I saw that console. Holy hell that looks good! Are those A/c vents from an SLK aswell? or did you paint them. Mine are like a gray color.
So just in case I decide to copy you on this dash... It looks like you bought the buttons on ebay, then spray painted the silver dash with a matte black finish?
The wheels look good too, did your car already have the eibach springs when you put them on? Your car looks low.
Also, what sized spacers did you use? I like how flush the wheel is to the fender.

Thanks for the comments. Vents are the crossfire ones, they are not deep black but close enough to match well. They may look lighter when paired with the silver trim.

eBay for buttons, sanded and sprayed the console pieces with black+clear coat. After a couple years there is some wear on the clear and a couple bare spots where I didn't prep well. I would recommend a pro job for longevity or multiple clear coats.

Did wheels eibachs and konis all at the same time, it's slightly higher in the back now as I had to increase spring pad size. Full tank looks about the same but lower than half a tank is a 3 finger gap now. No spacers used, Mandrus offsets are correct for the car and the rims are wider than stock so they sit nice and flush.

Sorry for OT, if you have any other specific questions throw them in the linked threads as not to highjack this one.

Thanks again.

Front Konis installed yesterday. Pretty easy.
Can not judge 100% the difference because the 2 stocks rear struts are still on but much better cornering, driving etc...
Of course the Michelin PSS are amazing and combined with the Konis.... just a great experience... now soon some brakes job...

Yes, Pretty easy!
The Michelin are great great... the perfect tire so far.
Also have a look on what Michelin offers when you get a flat... free roadside assistance

The roadside assistance is offered by Michelin.

I have to say the Michelin are stunning!!!!

The difference is here... You all remember the stock Continental, then we all more or less upgraded to HK or Conti DW.

Now with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, the obvious difference is the same between the stock Continental tire to a V12 HK or Cntienental DW.

The tire is taken to a new level, you have to try to believe it.

I was at the mall yesterday, Cadillac was exposing a Coupe CTS V... amazing car.... the car was wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport... this is all what I need to say!

The Michelin PSS is an exceptional tire (with an exceptionally high price tag and exceptionally low treadlife).....just wish I could afford to put these on every year.

Go to work for michelin, they give their employees tires every year as a perk. This I heard from a michelin rep briefing retirees at Shaw AFB last year.

They have a large turnover in their staff though as people soon tire of their job.
