Default engine hesitating

when my XF has has a bit of a thrashing for 10 minutes, the 1st 25% of the throttle pedal travel does NOTHING, The engine hesitates in all gears.... And the hesitation on throttling is the same whether moving or stationary....
The problem goes away if the engine is switched of and re started.... And all is fine until another thrashing and pushing the revs in all gears for 10 minutes......

Has any one come across this problem.... Or have any idea whats wrong?
Regards
Grant B

I had a similar issue the other day, there may be a bad hose. I popped off my engine cover and could hear a leak, the hose was left of the throttle body.

First I would check the codes. It sounds like a fuel restriction from what you have said. When you cut it off and start it again it has time to pick up more fuel. I don't know how many miles are on your car but I would consider changing out the fuel filter. Start with the small things and work towards the larger ones, not the other way around. JMO
