Gents... Following several posti g o exhausts and better noises etc......
Following i structions from an earlier posting here.....
Silencer removed..... Carved open the top 50% and gently bent it out of the way.....
Cut out the kidney shaped baffle and the two return tubes on the top of the rear section....
Removed all the wadding and rock-wool......
Welded the lid back on.........
Refitted silencer..... Job done...

Results...... Fantastic.....
Not excessively louder at all, but more added crackle and rumble.... And a more grumbly resonating noise going up the revs....
The lower end torque is slightly reduced.... But you'd need to be a fanatic to notice....
And the power is more obvious higher up the rev range than before....

Conclusion...... FANTASTIC...
The right noise that now has tinges of Lambougini and a bit more power or economy....
The pressure inside the exhaust system was very high... And now when you dab the pedal.... The engine jumps into life more eagerly.

Internal noise has not increased. .. Not even slightly..... and there is no risk at all of the vehicle failing noise emissions....
But the result is simply perfect.... For me :-)

There is a full description on this site with pictures of what to do.... And it cost me almost NOTHING to do.... And the pretty pipes are still on the car.
