Default New guy here

So i've came across this website from a friend and wow i cant believe i went this far without knowing about this site, so useful! Well my crossfire is going to hit 100k soon but the only things ive done was changing the oil, etc. I think its time for a timing belt change, new spark plugs, A/T fluid flush, air filter, and other stuff. So far i've had no major problems with my car and hope to keep it that way. Also im trying to save as much money as possible too, so with the spark plugs i've seen Bosch Iridium Spark Plug and Autolite Double Platinum Spark Plug (which is on sale, awesome!!) at my advance auto parts near me but dont know which one is better.

Better be thinking about a cooling system flush and maybe order a CPS to keep with you as well.

At 100,000 I usually do coolant/belts/hoses. (And a coolant flush, I think, should be done at 50,000 intervals, I goofed and didn't do mine till about 66,000.)

But, Welcome to the Forum!

Welcome!!

No timing belt so you don't need to worry there. As far as spark plugs, I always buy and recommend NGK. Bosch would be my next choice. Good luck and have fun with that thing!

As sk8erjosh09 said, timing CHAIN, not belt, not worries there.
As to the plugs, IRIDIUM

NeedsWings.com has a sale on now for 12 plugs and 8.5 mm Magnecor wires for $199

Here ya go:

http://www.needswings.com/NeedsWings-Ignition-Kit-Crossfire-xfignitionkit.aspx

Also, there is a recent discussion about spark plugs going on right now. You might be able to click the "new posts" button at the top of the screen and look for "Spark Plugs" in the list of titles. Some good info and links in that discussion.

Good luck - and welcome!

RL

EDIT - It seems the link just takes you to the NeedsWings site and not to the sale item. Click on SRT-6 and then click "Ignition". There, you should see some packages that are on sale. I think the SRT-6 and the N/A take different plugs, so you might want to investigate that - depending on your model.

Hey Boss - I'm gonna be honest and admit I don't know if there is a required "interval" where you need to change your wires. This is my first car of this caliber, so I am learning as well.

Check out this thread, post 16 in particular (ignore all the ranting):

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ark-plugs.html

He talks about when you might need to replace the wires. You also might do some searching on the Forum for spark plug wire posts and see what others have experienced.

Cables are probably not necessary, I replaced mine just for the car-show 'look', the red Magnecors look bad a** .
