Default Needswings srt intakes

Has anyone tried these on a NA engine? I've been looking for ways to get a faster 6speed and a lot of posts go unanswered besides saying get an srt. I still haven't found anyone who has bought a new cam or swapped the 3.7 block besides renntech. Sooo I think we need to start experimenting instead of condemning our 6 speeds by saying they're weak. There is a company who makes clutch kits for the slk320 and crossfire they're just vague in the descriptions.

I belive the Needswings NA intake and SRT intake flow the same CFM, so there shouldn't be a difference in performance.

Since they make ones to fit the NA.. can someone explain the need to put the SRT6 intake on? Does being labeled SRT6 make it faster? If so I'm off to Ebay.. noticed some go fast body badges!

Marky my boy they don't work on the n/a engine since it doesn't have a supercharger. There is thread after thread about modding the n/a model. A lot of those mods aren't available anymore as well.

I did find a company that makes cams for our engine I sent them an email with the cost for everything. It's safe to assume it might be an arm and a leg.
Kleemann - Tuning for the 32 AMG/320 (M112) V6 engines.

If you mentioned the words, Chrysler or Crossfire, in that email you may not get a response.

You also may want to insure the internals will support this camshaft. Our cars have the E32 version ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_M112_engine ), the others have a different version of the M112. You may buy a cam that will not work without a few internal mods. I am not sure the lower end (block) is identical, maybe you should check a lot further, seeing as you seem to have a coupe?

I just got an email back from Kleemann:
"
Hello Selby-

Thanks for taking the time to write!

Our product offerings for your 2005 crossfire are limited, unfortunately. The Crossfire is based on the Mercedes-Benz SLK Chassis (R170). That being said, KLEEMANN never developed headers for that particular chassis, so the only products available are ECU tuning and camshafts.

ECU Tune: $595.00 +15-20 HP/TQ, improved throttle response, removal of the top speed limiter.
Sport Camshafts: $2495.00 +15-20 HP, +15 TQ

These are the only two products KLEEMANN still offers for the M112 engine- I'm afraid our supercharger system for that engine was discontinued about 2 years ago.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Thanks again!!

So the Cams are a lot cheaper than I thought. Still not cheap.

For the price and performance listed you may as well just do a motor swap.

That's certainly not as bad as I was expecting.

The SRT-6 intakes are not labelled any differently than the N/A ones. I'm not absolutely certain that the SRT-6 intake would fit on an N/A though.

I was thinking "new purchase"... why buy SRT..

But I guess if you had an NA and could score a used SRT system for a few hundred less... it would be a valid question..

Good images to show the diff in the connection to the tb area.....still could be made to fit but what would the point be ......all things being equal. Unless you got a heck of a deal on the srt6 I'd stick with the 1 made for the application.

Yes Evan I bought the car and had it shipped......needs some surgery before it can be back on the road again. Gathering all the parts right now and taking everything apart to see all the things to make it right with the world again. You can come over and check it out....... or wait until spring when we have another run.

Sounds good. I'm sure you will make it right again. We'll have to plan our next CCC event soon.
