Unhappy Sad news from Indy

Well unfortunately my time with a Crossfire was short lived. The transmission went out in my car after a major oil leak and the tranny ran dry. So instead of putting $4,000 into the car that I don't have I ended up retiring my 04 coupe. I'd actually replaced the headlights at the dealership to the tune of $1,756.03.

For that much I demanded the old headlights. There are no broken tabs or anything. It looks like there's a couple of places the plastic is coming off. I honestly don't know if there was a protector on the headlights or if you can sand them down or what. I'm extremely **** about my cars and this wasn't something I wanted to deal with. So would anyone be interested in my old headlights? They are definately usable.

I'll see about getting some pics online but wanted to give you guys the first crack at it.

Anyone interested?

You said "retired" your Crossfire, did you sell it?

So it's $4K to replace the 6 speed manual transmission?

How many miles were on the car?

Glad I have the LPW.....my stick has almost 89,000 miles.....

I don't know where they came up with 4K because they are all over the place for 1K or less used. The 05 and older C230 trans is the same you just need your flywheel and clutch. Do some research and keep that great car!

Well, he already said he "retired it"......maybe that means he traded it in at the dealership that quoted him $4K?

I am in Indy and may be able to offer some assistance if you still have the car (I do not fully understand the first post or if you still have the car) but I am also interested in seeing the headlights, I need to redo mine and would not mind buying your set

I live the broad ripple area if you are close...

Could be... It would be unfortunate that another crossie is out of a members hands now though.

I would assume that "retire" means that he's putting it in storage until which time he sees fit to fix it. Interesting how we all see things differently.
Since he didn't get the headlights fixed under warranty, I wonder why he had to demand the old headlights back. To me, that would seem like a simple "I would like to keep my old parts, please." Usually you don't even have to ask.
