Default A little bit of History for the Newbies...

To the Newbies:
Here's an older article from 2010 on Chrysler and the Crossfire, from the creation in 2001 to the final build in December 2007. A little history lesson and a mention of the forum!
MotorCities National Heritage Area - Story of the Week

Enjoy,

Thanks for posting. Much of what is said I already knew including Eric Stoddard, of which autographed my Crossfire last year. However, the models listed as "Base, Limited, Special Editions and the rare, SRT6" caught my attention as I have never heard of the "Special Editions" (I own the Limited Coupe) nor have I ever seen mention of the "Special Editions" on this forum.....what exactly was the "Special Editions"?

Close to a base model.. with SRT6 style wheels - pretty much sums it up. Very few were produced.

Edit: Actually have ran across 3 for sale tonight on this site ..

Some of us over at CICCI helped work on this article back in 2010
The group photo at Fontana Dam was provided by me
Good article and good to see it resurface again.
There was some discussion about this here back in 2011 in this other thread too

I love that article. Valk's photo of the 2009 XFs at Fontana made me want my car to be a part of a group photo like that. That photo of XFs is my all time favorite!

Very cool indeed. I genuinely hope to keep my XF until one or our hearts stops beating.

It is a great photo. Had it on the wall in my office for a couple years. Mine's the silver roadster on the inner circle in front of Gump's yellow roadster.

Valk also took an amazing pic at a Woodward Dream Cruise a few years back from the top of a fire station.
