Default A bit confused?

Sry if this is a dumb question, but im looking into getting a black crossfire coupe and i noticed most pictures ive seen have a silver trim around the front window while a few have a black trim. I feel the black on black looks cooler but dont know if there is a difference between models? Any help would be great! Thanks.

The black trim has been painted (by the owner) to match the body color. The silver trim is standard on ALL Crossfires. The exterior differences from the SRT6 and the Coupe is the rear spoiler. The SRT has a larger "fixed" spoiler.

Some BASE model Crossfires (Not Limited or SRT6's) came with the windshield trim in black.

If the radio ***** are also black, and the seats are cloth and unpowered, then it's a 'base' model.

The silver trim is a "limited" thing.

The black trim was used on base coupes and roadsters, as well as the Red "Special Edition" Roadster.

edit, checked and they come with black trim.

04's were not Limited's and they came with silver trim as well as all Limited accessories and a special day/night rear view mirror.

Nope! Google some images or look at Autotrader!

Actually, the sillver trim WAS standard on all Crossfires in '04 - before the introduction of all the various models of Crossfire - just thought of that.

If ya see a red roadster with black trim, look closely, it'll also be missing it's fog lights.... and it'll be a Base inside!
That is an SE.

Mark, you said the silver trim was a "Limited" thing. 180 was pointing out that the 2004's were never called a "Limited".

What's in a name? That which we call a [Crossfire] by any other name would [drive] as sweet.

No, when it comes to cars, the term "Limited" usually denotes something more "exclusive" than a Standard, or a Base model.
For the 2004 model year, there was only one model manufactured, so using the term Limited makes no sense, and you won't find it anywhere in the 2004 Dealer Promotional literature, or found on the factory MSO document.
Referring to an 04 as a Limited, is just as wrong as calling the red SE convertibles, the black Base models, and any SRT models a Limited.
If anybody here on the forum has an "Original" 2004 title that says "Limited" on it, then it was a mistake the Dealer made when you purchased your car, and I would bet the confusion happened because the 04 was purchased AFTER the 05 models made their debut.
As Rayth pointed out, "What's in a name"? Well let's put it this way.
If somebody has a 69 SS Camaro Rally Sport, and you refer to it as just an SS Camaro, I'm guessing you would probably hear about it.

Why be so technical about it? The 2004 is equipped as a Limited, looks acts and in all aspects is a Limited. There was just no other cheaper model to choose from, the Corporation was to optimistic about sales for that. It even has a dimming rear view mirror that the following "Limiteds" don't have.

An old friend of mine has a 1968 Belvedere Convertible with a heavy duty suspension, and a 383 hi.po. Everytime I refer to it as a Road Runner, he get's pi$$ed.
Guess I just like keeping the "facts" straight on the internet. Makes things a lot easier to research later.

Yes, auto dimming rear view mirror AND the wiring for the OEM Navigation unit was already installed.
An added bonus was the fact that the car was newly built and people kept asking what it was. I have not had people ask me that question for a long time now.

I don't think my auto dimming mirror works. So my '04 is limited in its abilities.
