Default Quick Question????

In your opinion, what do you like better? Chrome?, or Carbon Fiber?

Carbon Fiber always looks cheap to me.......chrome has it's place. Personally I prefer aluminum in general.

It's all according to the application.

If you're asking in regard to air intake tubes, I'd say carbon fiber because it's probably not as heat conductive, plus, nothing else under the hood is shiny, so chrome would look out of place.

Saskins,

It depends what you are wanting to use it for. Carbon Fibre is pretty strong and light but looks naff. Chrome is not functional but can be asthetically pleasing.

On the XF, I like the Aluminium in preference to Chrome.

Ok So the group is feeling that Carbon Fiber and Aluminume are the picks, and not so much on the chrome. As far as Carbon Fiber looking cheap, I agree. However in some applicaitions it looks killer, and is functional. Ok thanks guys. I really enjoy getting input from all of you. It is so very helpful, and could be beneficial to all of you. SO thanks again.

If you are hinting about some sort of add-on for the X-fire, then I can tell you I wouldn't put anything on my car except aluminum or whatever matched the silver trim.

Every once in a while I'll see a fart-canned something with a CF hood on it. Dummest God-damn things I have ever seen.

I never put anything on any car I own, that will clash with the over all look, and feel of the car. That I agree on 100%. I really like the look of brushed aluminum. I see stregnth when I look at it. When stuff is made out off Aluminum it just looks strong, or industrial or something. I don't know. This car is a challenge man. It's not the kind of car you can just put any old generic thing into it , and have look like it's supposed to be there. Has anyone else had the same frustrations as me, or am I just crazy?

I think the RICER CARS using CF on their dented up hondas always looks cheap and has really made CF have a ricer look because so much has been used on broken down Hondas.Too bad .

But when it's used on a real car it can look GREAT.As well as Brushed Alum. done right.
