I am new to owning a crossfire. I have had it about a month now and I am loving it. I have noticed that my steering wheel does not lock when I turn the wheel with the key out. Does that mean the sticky key mod has been done?

The early sticky key fixes included cutting off the shaft that locks the steering wheel. The new method only removes the spring and pin and the steering wheel will still lock. Only way to tell is taking it apart but if the shaft was cut it doesn't seem to have caused any problems as no one has mentioned it in the last 4 years.

 

Well that's good news. I don't have to worry about doing it in the future. My car has around 75,000 miles young. Mid year 06 Limited gray N/A.
