Default Crossfire Key? Ignition lock out 2005 Coupe

Can't believe it but it has happened to my Crossfire Complete ignition lock out. Been at the dealer for 5 days while trying to solve the problem. This definitely should have been a recall item. Chrysler Techs are aware of the problem but Pentastar refuses to acknowledge the problem by issuing an official recall........

Probably no recall because everyone has fixed it themselves. Read this

Get the part in the car now fixed as per the How To noted above, DO NOT let them sell you a $400 part plus labor that may fail next week.

Please explain in more detail.
Did you do this yourself or did the dealer do it?
What part did you buy?
Was it the part that you were advised not to buy or just the tumbler?
Did the "Halo" around the key hole get disconnected at the SKREEM module end?

I do not believe in coincidences too much so I think it is an ignition switch problem.

How do we get the message out? The message: Chrysler dealerships' service departments do not know enough about this car to service it.

It seems as tho we have seen an upsurge in recent weeks of the number of people who have had an ignition lock failure and cannot get it repaired at any dealership.
All that time and money wasted, when we have an easy and PROVEN fix here on this forum.

Frustrating.

unfortunately there are a limited number of options for repair where I live so it was either a back yard mechanic or Chrysler. The part replaced was the ignition housing which I purchased from MB Dealer not Chrysler. New security transponder ring around ignition was also replaced but car will still not start. Car turns over but will not start. Scan reveals gas ok but no spark. Any ideas???
