Default Crossfire headliner

In my previous Alabaster coupe, my headliner was perfect, never sagged, looked like it did from the factory up until the moron crashed my car.

What makes these headliners go bad? smoking?

I'm buying an SRT and the headliner is shot. How hard is it to replace it and make it look like it did from the factory with the crease and all?

Can alcantara be used?

Please respond asap as the dealer is calling me back.

thanks

I just had mine done and chose to upgrade with a non stock headliner (thicker, better adhesion, same color and texture as stock). Heat made mine go bad as I've chosen to make it my almost daily driver. The guy at my local auto upholstery place did a wonderful job and it absolutely looks factory with no problems during installation at all (he was, however, very specific as to how he wanted to approach the job). I don't think alcantara would be doable because it's thin and the gluing process would very likely lead to bleed through. I wanted this job done once and done right (as to not re-visit this in the future) and I'm very happy with the end product. $210.00 out the door.

They used bad glue from the factory. Plus they didn't wrap it right around the edges so moisture gets in there. The guy that did mine said it must have been the cause. The headlines will fall eventually in most crossfires. A very common problem.

I think it is because some of the headliners do drugs when they were young. Sad...
