Default I lost a race

I was doing 80 in a 75 mph highway out in the country. Nobody around and you can see for miles on the straight road. I went past a newer mustang gt that decided to play with me. We both hit the gas and hit about 125 before he decided to get off at an exit. He crawled past me and simply had more power.

I embarrassed the crossfire owners by not giving a good show. I know I could have blown him away at high speeds if I drove the car right. German engineering should be able to overcome american muscle at those high speeds, right? I simply messed up. I should have downshifted and hit the gas. Instead I left it in 6th gear. My mistake and now the guy probably lost respect for crossfires. I don't drive the crossfire (or a stick) much anymore so I was a little rusty. I don't really even race either. I was just trying to have a little fun and open up my car since it needed to stretch from being in the garage too long.

WOW.....can't we all just get along. You know the great thing about these cars, is there are 2 different versions. It's been obvious to me for some time, many of the guys I know that have tied into XF's and have laughed at the fact they were able to beat them whether playing on the street or the track, have paid dearly when I invite them out to a test and tune night. Even if they won't run theirs, I have been able to take on most street, let me say this again, STREET cars without a problem. The closer times come when you get some really modded out cars equal or better than mine. Turbo'd cars are hard to judge. If they are dialed in and built correctly, some are capable of 10 second or less quarters. I can stay with about all naturally aspirated cars. Bottom line, if you are stock you aren't going to win. So, although I don't play too much on the street, I will play enough to make them think a bit. Thank God no stock GT-R's come to the track...lol

What year was it? Anything 2005+ should blow you away in a fair race.

I never race people. I think it is dangerous and I don't want to end up in jail. I just wanted to open the car up and stretch it out. The mustang was behind me. When I hit the gas, he did too. And he moved past me. But my original intention was not to race. This mustang was newer than 2005. I have a 2005 coupe.

Try explaining that to a Cop. You wanted to open the car up, stretch it out and you lost the race.

I feel like it's your choice to race/open up our babies whenever we want....it's our risk anyway. But I only do it when it's a clear road ahead, if I kill myself it'll be on me, no one else

You should be a detective. I never said I had a Bentley but I can if I wanted. Just not crazy about them.
