Should I buy?
Should I buy?
Hi everyone. I'm currently shopping for a new car and am seriously considering the Crossfire. My local dealer is offering a 2004 Blaze Red Limited Coupe (automatic) for $28,800 (out the door). The sticker is $35,570. I'm thinking this is a great deal and my wife and I both like the car very much. What does everyone think? Could I get a better deal? I'm in northern Virginia.
Re: Should I buy?
Dean, I too am seriously considering a crossfire purchase. There are some really good deals on '04's. That sounds like a pretty good deal(in NJ we have 1500 rebates and 1000 extra rebate if financed through DC). I am considering a purchase through carmax. Their prices are even better, although you'll have to travel somewhat(their nearest Chrysler sales are Atlanta and Orlando...)
Re: Should I buy?
I purchased Crossfire in Canada last April and have no regrets whatsoever.
Enjoyable ride, solid car in all respects and plenty of power for the average driver.
I can't advise you on the price because the Canadian $ is so much different but I would suggest that all the dealers are offering great pricing on the '04 models. You could view this site for the next couple of days and doubt you would find any justifiable complaints re purchase and experience with this vehicle.
I say go for it.

Re: Should I buy?
I am considering one as well. I currently have a 2003 RSX Type S and the insurance is out of hand. They told me that the symbol is now a 23 and the Crossfire is a 15. I found a 2004 White with 3800 miles for 26,900 is that a good price? It had manual tranny and fogs. Tax, etc. is not included in that.
I know I am sacrificing some performance but I am almost 30 and feel like I need something with a little more class and sophistication. The Crossfire seems to be the right move right now.
Thoughts...

Re: Should I buy?
Once again, I say go for it.
I just turned 10,000km (6,500miles) and no problems whatsoever. Everyday driver from April to November (even during rain). I love the car and I still look forward to driving it.
As you can see from my Gallery pics, I did convert the exhaust to full dual with no muffler. Three reasons: Felt the engine needed to breath better, yearned for a louder sound (like a real sports car) and after looking underneath felt it would be an easy convert; It was! The toughest part was getting the sound to a point where I liked it.

Re: Should I buy?
Dean, which dealer gave you that price? I live in Herndon and I got mine from Manassas Chrysler back in June and I got mine for invoice (2004 model). I'd say that is a very good deal. I don't see many Crossfires in this area, which is another added benefit to a lot of us.
Re: Should I buy?
There are all kinds of Crossfires, coupes and roadsters, at the dealerships in the area here north of Detroit, MI. When I bought my Roadster, it was the only one I saw. Must be because the weather got cold to remind everybody here that Michigan winter is coming and the XF isn't exactly the perfect car for that!

Re: Should I buy?
Thanks everyone. I just bought it. Price was $27,380.39 before tt&t, and $28,500.01 out the door. 130 miles on it. I did use the Carmax prices to bargain, but the cheapest automatics in Atlanta and Orlando are $31k today. Looks like the cheaper automatics were sold.
mjanowich: Cowles Nissan Chrysler in Woodbridge.
Anyhow, funny thing is, I haven't driven it yet (besides the test drive). Wife loves it too much...

Re: Should I buy?
Dean,
I bought one a couple of weeks ago here in California. I got it for $8000 off MSRP. I thought that was a great deal. One week later, the dealership I bought from advertised in the paper "$9500 off MSRP for all remaining 04's." Another dealer about 30 miles from my house was advertising $11,000 off four of their remaining 04's. So, go out, hold firm for the best deal you can get, and then stop reading the papers for awhile. Ha. I wish I had done that last part.
